I awoke to a small paw poking my nose. Squinting at the blurry ball of fluff I saw Khali staring at me. He was getting to be too big for milk at this point, and now ate what we did. "Are you hungry?" I asked, and he nodded. "I didn't wanna wake you...but my tummy hurts" I huffed, in the end my cub needs me more than my emotions need me.

But before I could even step foot towards the door. I saw a shadow, immediately growling and shoving my cub behind me. "Ryder I told you to stay away" I snarled. But then he stepped closer, "Ash... it's me. I just smell like him...we had a tussle this morning trying to get him off our land." My body relaxed and felt weak at the sight of my mate. He dropped a rabbit at my feet. Nudging it towards Khali. "Is someone hungry?" Khali pokes his head around my leg. I chuffed towards him and pushed him towards the rabbit. "Tell him thank you darling...your daddy got it for you." He looked up to me uncertain, but I stepped pst him and nuzzled against Nuka. A purr deep in my chest. "I missed you so much"
He rested his head on my shoulder. His mane had gotten fuller after the last id seen him.

"What will happen to Ryder?" I asked and almost instantly regretted it. Nuka's body stiffened. "We sent two lions to chase him home, we pledged to return him in return for peace." I licked his face, showing him everything was okay. "You have to tell me everything." I mumbled. Nuka nodded . "I will, but not today... today i want to be with my beautiful mate and son" he walked to Khali and as he did my boy rolled onto his back, showing submissive to the male. I couldn't help but smile, even though Nuka was his father. I'd taught him to be respectful of the males of the pride. Though Ryder had helped me...

I flopped onto my stomach. Watching them interact as Khali attacked Nuka's tail. Nuka played roared and flipped his tail around as if it were a toy. I need to forget Ryder. Nuka is my mate. And only him.

I got up, "can you watch Khali for a minute? So I can go get water?" I asked towards Nuka. He just nodded, as he was fascinated with Khali trying to tackle him.

I padded out the door and down pride rock. Everywhere I walked, I could smell Ryder where we'd made trails for Khali to follow. We wanted him to stay safe..Ryder had helped a lot. Nuka was hiding something...I could see it in his eyes... just gotta figure out why.
