Wanna get back to San Francisco in the fire lightTuesday June 11, 2019
It was nearing 8pm, the end of Keira's shift at the Pizza Hut just outside of the city. Luna was sitting on her bed in her small apartment working on a philosophy paper that was due next week. The front door slammed shut and shook the wall, startling her. "Stupid paper walls," she sighed to herself. Luna could hear her roommate Kenna walking into the kitchen followed by some extra footsteps and a fit of laughter, sounds like her coworkers came over for dinner. Considering she would never get any work done with the house being this loud, she decided to call it quits for the night.
Glancing at the time on the top of her laptop she saw it had just hit 7:40pm and her girlfriend Keira would be getting off soon. Luna knew that the two of them both had Wednesdays off and thought of taking Keira on a picnic in the park tomorrow. Normally Luna would just shoot her girlfriend a text during her shift so Keira can reply once she sees her phone again but she thought it would be fun to surprise her at work. Luna grabbed her phone and quickly Googled Pizza Hut's number, tapped the screen, and put her phone up to her ear.
After three rings the line picked up,
"Daly City Pizza Hut, this is Keira how can I help you?" Keira's voice chimed over the line.
"Hi Keira, this is the CEO of Pizza Guys. I'm calling to inform you that I have just bought out your franchise and everyone can go home early. I have out pizza'd the hut." Luna teased.
"Excuse me, Ms. CEO, but no one out pizzas the hut on my watch!" Keira defended with a small giggle escaping, happy to be surprised by her girlfriend. "What do you need that couldn't wait? I'm not off yet, remember?"
"Well yeah I remember I just figured if you're still clocked in might as well get paid while I ask you out on a super cute picnic date tomorrow?"
Keira smiled thinking about a picnic with Luna, "How do you expect me to say no to that?" she questioned playfully, "I really have to go now and finish cleaning, I'll text you when I get home."
Luna chuckled, "Alright, doll, I'll talk to you later. Don't forget: work smarter not harder."
"You're the worst." Keira joked before hanging up the phone and going back to what she was doing, a smile on her face now from the thought of her partner.
Luna laid back on her bed, her phone slipping out of her hand next to her. Everything felt perfect. Luna was content in her relationship. They had been dating for about 3 months now. The girl's were each other's first official girlfriend and it was thrilling and timid and new. They were still in their honeymoon phase you could say, but it seemed like it never ended. They were happy and they were comfortable and they were free to love each other openly in such an accepting city.
Luna drifted to sleep after laying there for a short while. A smile small crept its way to her lips as she felt so certain of one thing; everything felt perfect.
