"So you mean to tell me this whole time you two were alive?" Luhan questioned as the two boys sat in front of him.
Jaejoong nodded, "Yes, but you seem to forget the important part: To protect the girls."
Kris and Luahn both sat in silence as they contemplated everything that had just happened. Confusion spread over them like a wildfire with a sense of another emotion, jealousy. Why did they feel jealous? Was it because they thought Yongguk and Daehyun would reveal themselves to the girls again which would make the girls would automatically run back to them?
Were they afraid that they might possibly lose Sara and Blondie? Well, Kris had tried to ask Sara out, but in the end failed, though She had promised him once she found out if Yongguk was truly dead, then he'd have a chance.
Luhan would still try despite Daehyun's presence, but there would always be that known tension between the two boys.
It was all a game. Two would emerge victorious, the other two would bite the dust. Yongguk and Daehyun of course were determined to keep the girls by their sides, but Kris and Luhan also wanted the same for themselves.
None of them were fond of losing either, which would make this game a little more interesting than they anticipated.
"You're not going to tell the girls," Kris ordered as he leaned forward.
A slight smile curved the right side of Jaejoong's mouth as he too leaned forward, "Who says we were? The whole idea is to have them think we're gone. That way we can get what has to be done, done."
The room grew silent. The only sounds were that of a ticking clock and the rustle of the book pages as the a cool draft escaped the vent of the air conditioner.
Luhan tapped his pencil against the hard Mahogany table as a thought entered his mind, "Well, if you two are supposed to be gone, we might as well act like it."
Confused by his comment, Jaemin along with the others looked up at him.
"What do you mean?" Kris questioned in a quiet tone.
Luhan drew in a breath before he exhaled as he stood. Pacing back and forth in a calm manner, Luhan tied his hands behind his back as he started to speak, "The girls believe, but don't fully believe that you two are gone, so we're going to act like you're gone. Act like you have been acting and we will also."
Jaejoong shook his head in disagreement, "No, I object to that statement. I don't want Kris talking to Sara."
Raising an eyebrow, Kris turned and smiled in an acrimonious fashion, "Why? Are you afraid I might steal her from you?"
Jaejoong returned the same bitter smile, "You wish. Actually, I just don't want you talking to her period. You're bad news, Kris."
"And how exactly am I bad news?" Kris questioned, his voice raising little by little.
Sucking in a breath, Jaejoong pushed his chair out as he started to walk around, "You just are. I don't trust your friends around her when they're using their powers. It's possible she could get hurt."
Kris rose from his seat also as he looked at the boy in front of him, "Only an imbecile would get hurt! Where's the possible danger? From where I stand, there is no danger!"
Raising his eyebrows, Jaejoong smirked, "Oh, really? What about your fire-loving friend? Chanyeol, I think his name. He tends to throw fits that turn into a flaming war, literally. Your other friend, Sehun. He likes to tamper with the weather making tornadoes and God knows what else occur. Your other friend, Xiu Min, likes to freeze the water that comes from Suho to make ice sickles. Even you and Luhan like to fly and use telekinesis! How is any of that safe?"
Kris sighed as he shook his head, "But we still control it when the girls are around! You really think Luhan and I would let them get hurt? Even with the others. You think they would let them get hurt?"
Jaejoong leaned in, his voice low and threatening, "I don't really trust too many people, so hear me out on this: Stay away."
Mimicking the other boy, Kris leaned in also, "No, you hear me out on this: If we stay away, there will be other dangers than fiery tornadoes or flying ice sickles that were caused by Luhan's mind control. Let me remind you that those two dangers are Kyung-Soon and Sun-Hee who have a full-flegded army behind them back on their home planet."
Jaemin sighed as he turned to Jaejoong, "He's right. We need to push our own selfish wants and needs aside and focus on the priority. The precedence is keeping the girls safe."
Nodding after a few seconds, Jaejoong spoke up, "Okay, you two are right. We need to do this for the girls."
Luhan smiled, "Good. Now that that is settled-" but before he could finish, Kai popped into the room.
Kris sighed, "Chanyeol?"
The boy nodded as Kris and Luhan excused themselves leaving Jaejoong and Jaemin to look at a semi-burnt Kai. With his clothes half singed off along with a few hairs on his eyebrows, Kai cleared his throat only to have black dust float into the air.
"How-" but before Jaejoong could finish his sentence, Kai began backing away.
"Forgive me Earthli-I mean, you--two, but I must go!" Kai yelled before running out the door.
The two boys sighed as they looked down at themselves. Jaemin chuckled lightly as he commented, "So that's how it feels to be called 'Earthling.'"
