Growing Up

3rd pov:

Growing up was difficult for Hadrian because after the incident everyone was slowly forgetting him. First it started with family friends like alice and frank longbottom. But over time it slowly got worse and the only people that didnt forget him was remus and sirius aswell as lily and james. After the incident with voldemort or as hadrian calls him tom he realised everyone was forgetting him and favouring him over his brother. 

Many people dont know this but hadrian was a very intelligent toddler, he had an eidetic memory so he could remember everything from a few months old. But he also could talk as if he had been for years yet no one knew because they chose not to speak with him. Apart from his godparents, who were more like parents to him.

By the age of 3 hadrian could do most things a ten year old could do but he never showed anyone this because he didn't know how they would react so he chose to hide it. After the whole fiasco with tom hadrian started to call lily and james their given names because they were distant to him and he felt they didn't deserve the title of mum and dad. You see because of his eidetic memory he was super smart so he could see that his parents didn't love him like they did ethan if they loved him at all so thats why he stayed in his room the whole time.

His room was the smallest of all the bedrooms but he was still able to fit in a desk, a single bed, and some drawers. He had the smallest room becuase his parents decided that ethan needed a whole wing to himself for all the presents he was being sent but he didn't complain. The only time he spoke to his so called family was when answering them usually with yes sir or o sir and yes ma'am or no ma'am.

The people he talked to at all was sirius and remus because they actually cared about him and wanted to talk to him. Unlike ethan his younger brother, this is because ethan hated him from the moment he was born you could see the hate in his eyes when he looked at hadrian. Hadrian didn't know what he had done for his brother to hate him so much apart from being born. By the time hadrian was four he had started taking books from the library to read from and was reading at least 5 books a day when he didn't have any chores.

But this wasn't just all that happened when hadrian turned four,no , Lily and James as he now calls them had started making him do all the chores and it wasn't just tidy his own bedroom like normal parents no at the age of four his parents expected him to tidy the whole house top to bottom everyday as well as cook breakfast for them and do the garden. This is when he realised they didn't love him becuase if he didn't finish his chores he would be punished for it. His punishments would usually be the belt from his father but on more serious offences like back talking or being what they thought was rude towards ethan then he would go to "the room".

James had made the room because he thought being disobeyed more than three times hadrian deserved to go to that room, but he didn't and although the whole potter family knew about hadrians treatment they didn't do anything and just let it happened.( which was there first mistake.) Hadrian also didn't tell sirius and remus because he didn't want to worry them, so he hid what they did to him beneath a few layers of the only clothes he owned. The room his punishments happened in gave him nightmares for days and also made him mad at james because he shouldn't be doing this to anyone let alone his son.Over the next couple of years he managed to master wandless magic and had started on wordless magic but he was finding it difficult. 

 Hadrians POV:(Hadrians 7 turning 8 now)

Today was the day of my 8th birthday so i woke up like i normally would. I pulled myself out of bed at 5:00 am in the morning to start breakfast for the potters which would consist of pancakes and a traditional english breakfast like every morning. I sighed as i got out of the shower, got dressed and made my way towards the kitchen. I greeted the house elves like normal and got on with breakfast, the house elves and me have gotten along very well and i treat them with respect because i feel like they deserve it and they do so we get along together when doing our chores. They don't like how the potters are treating me and they can't do anything because they are bound to them but they help me with the chores as much as they can without getting in trouble and i am very thankful to them for that.
