Three years after mass infection

                    *BAM BAM BAM*
A loud thump proceeded the bullet shots. A whush of relief promptly followed as a gun was reloaded. It was to be short-lived however as the sound didn't end immediately. The three bullet shots rang through the air, the sound dispersing quickly.

"Fuck." A feminine voice cursed as the shots echoed throughout the surrounding area. A young blonde girl, who's opinion had been so eloquently expressed, darted off. On her back was a ragged black backpack, seemingly held together by threads.

The blonde girl was armed with an old handgun, which was held by her right hand. She stood at 5'6, looking more like a teen than the adult she was. Her most noticeable feature, however, was her starting deep green eyes for which she was named for.

She ran in the shadows, darting in and out of alleyways, running past littered streets, and backtracked at seemingly random turns. Finally, she stopped her confusing route to stop at an unassuming door. Just as she did, loud moans & growls started to permiate the area.

Just great. Now the whole area will be crawling with zombies. Jade thought to herself, annoyed. It looks like I'm not getting any supplies today. Jade sighed softly as she made her way to the door.

The room was dimly lit with the fading sunlight that shone through a dusty window. A few shapes of furniture could still be seen though, and a doorway to the left was slightly ajar. The walls were outdated, and peeling.

After proceeding to open and latch the door many times, Jade relaxed, and leaned against the wall. That was a close call. Too close a call for today. She thought to herself despondently. She sighed, but got up again, moving into the next room.

The room she moved into was as equally musty and dark as the other. It contained one bed, and a small table next to it. Jade gently put her frayed backpack on a table beside the bed. I'll have to go out again in the morning. She thought sleepily, and before long, was fast asleep.
