Will's POV:

I walk into the ER where I will be working as a nurse for ayear.  If all well I'll become an official docter.  Yes, I know it's a long shot and I'll have to prove myself.  I know I'll be underestimated and they don't think I have what it takes since I'm only 23 but I've been working in high stress situations since I was a kid so I'll be fine.

"Will Solace?" an nurse asked.  "Yes" I said.  "Perfect" she said, "you'll be following me around for the first month then you'll be working under Doctor Seller.  Sound good?" "Yes mam" I said.

From what I know Doctor Seller is going to be retireing in a year or so.  That means if all goes according to plan, I'll be taking his position.  I followed the nurse around (who's name I later found out was Harley) as she made her rounds asking patients questions name, age, pain level, excetera.  I've been reading more for the last three years so my dyslexia doesn't bother me as much as much as it once did.  Though, I've always been able to read medical journals without a promblem.  probably an Apollo thing.

Halfway through my first day and I'm feeling good.  No lives have been at risk (yet) and no limbs needed to be reatched (Cough*Paolo*Cough).  As I'm sitting in the break roomlistening to my new co-workers talk about about their lives my mind wonders to the last two years of my life.  So many great things have happened.  One of them being marrying the love of my life, Nico.  I look down at my hand expecting to find my silver wedding band there.  Then I remember I left it at home.  Nico convinced me to leave it there because he and I both know that I tend to get my hands bloody whenever someones in danger.

I then think about how I made it to where I am today.  Apollo was able to place me in med school when I was 18.  He convinced the university I already had the qualifications for med school. (Man I love the mist sometimes).  I graduted three months ago, I started residency a week later.  I was obviously the youngest so they thought I was the least experienced.  That obviously wasn't the case.  Long story short someone was instructed to deliver a baby.  There was a complication and a C-section was required.  I, not even thinking went into full blown doctor mode, started barking orders  and successfully completed the C-section.  Everyone was staring at me in awe and next thing I know I'm starting my first day in the ER.

I turn my attention back to the conversation.  Harley is telling the group about how her cat gave birth two weeks ago.  Dr. Seller turned to me "You've been awful quiet son" he said.  "Having second thoughts?" "No sir" I replied.  "I responded, "I was just thinking about my time time at school." "Ah yes" he replied, "I was quite surprised when they recommended you to fill my position.  You are so young, tell me, how did you know what to do with that mother?  There were plenty of capable doctors and nurses around.  But you just jumped in and started barking orders like you owned the place." He must have noticed my sheepish expression because he continued, "Oh no no, you handled that incredibly.  I wouldn't have done anything different.  I felt uncomfortable at the doctor's praise so I did what I always do, gave my best smile and responded "I saw someone who needed help so I helped them."  There were murmers of agreement from the three other people in the room.

The rest of the day went smoothly.  I got in my car and drove home to where Nico would be waiting for me.  I walked into the aparment that Nico and I share with Cecil and Lou. (Yes, I ship them.  I think their ship name should be Cecellen.)  I walked into Nico's art room where Nico was painting his newest art piece, Fall Out Boy playing in the background.  I knocked softly on the door to alert him of my presence.  He turned around and gave me a small smile "How was your first day?" he asked, "Uneventful" I replied, walking over to him and wrapping my arms around his waist.  "and what does uneventful mean for you?" he smirked.  "It means I have plenty of energy to do whatever you want."  I said kissing him softly.

********************************************2 weeks later**************************************

One thing I've learned: intoxicated woman love to hit on ER staff, especially me.  Sure I've been hit on by the Aphrodite girls at camp but once Nico and I started dating they all backed off.

"Hey handsome, want to come back to my place after I bust out of here?".  The latest drunk slurred.  I locked eyes with the man who brought her in here, her father.  "Don't worry" I reasured him, "I'm not tempted."  -I've been around a lot of drunk people, Nico and I started singing at a bar a couple of years ago.  Technically we aren't even aloud in there but the Stolls decided to make everyone a fake ID for their 17th birthday.  Nobody knows that Nico and I use ours to get a little extra cash, it's are little secret.  What can I say, we do a lot of crazy things for money. - I quickly got the patient set up and got the Hades out of there.  Harley smirked at me as we left the bay "You sure you're not tempted" she joked.  "I'm positive!" I replied.  My co-workers don't know about Nico or that I'm married to him.  Actually, they don't know anything about my life outside of the hospital.

So far the worst thing that I've seen is a kid who crashed his bike into a parked car.  That may seem bad but he got lucky, a few broken ribs, a broken leg, and a few cracked teeth.  So compared to what I had to deal with at camp this was beginners stuff.

Nico and I agreed that I would not use my powers unless a life was being robbed.  We agreed on this for two reasons.  One: I don't want to draw too much attention to myself.  Two: Using demigod powers takes a lot of energy.  Sure, I have good stamina with mine but if I was using them every shift multible times I would be completely exhausted.  Sure there has been people with chest pain and the occasional mini stroke but they haven't put me on those cases yet.  They were never too severe, I'd be able to tell if they were.  I've gotten used to always calling for an x-ray even though I always know someone has broken as soon as I put my hand on the bone.

"Bay four" Harley says to me.  We walk into the bay and there is a slightly overweight man of about 30 sitting on the bad.  I start asking the usual questions:

"Name?"

"Gerald Sprout"

"Age?"

"32"

"Chief complaint?"

He looks at Harley then me.  He gets up and walks over to me and whispers in my ear "It's been twelve hours".  I nod in understanding.  Harley looks at me,  prompting me to tell her so she can write it down.  "He has an erection, it's been twelve hours."  I state.  Harley writes it down.  She looked like she'd been expecting that answer.  At this point nothing really surprises her anymore.  We assure the man that we will be back shortly and walk out of the bay.  20 minutes later Dr. Seller calls us back back in so Harley can help preform the procedure.

Near the end of the day a car crash victim came in.  Us nurses followed orders barked out by Dr. Grey.  I could tell right away that the patient had four fractured ribs, three breaks in his left femur, internal bleeding and many laserations.  I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my viens and the Apollon power building up in me. However, I couldn't use it, not yet.  My chance presented it self five minutes later when the man started coding.  "Will! Start chest compressions!" Dr. Grey yelled.  A split second later I had my hands on the patients chest.  As I was doing compressions I let my abilities flow slowly into the man.  (Over the years I've gotten better with my powers.  Now I can use them without a hymm.  Of course they are stronger when I do use a hymm but I can't exactly be singing in the ER.)  The internal bleeding stopped and his heart started beating on it's own.  After an hour he was reletivly stable and taken to ICU.

It was 7:00 end of my shift.  Dr. Grey and Dr. Seller were having a conversation.  "That man was lucky, he didn't have any internal bleeding."  Seller was saying. "Yeah, I thought for sure he'd have some internal bleeding but after he was revived he was reletivly better."  Grey replied.  They caught sight of me, "Hey Will," Dr. Grey calls, "You did good today."  "Thank you sir" I said.  "You know Will," Dr. Seller started, "I think you will make a great doctor."  I nodded, then I walked out to the parking lot, to where my husbund was waiting.

That took sooooo long
