~𝙿𝚛𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚕𝚢~

“Why? Why do you like me now when I like someone else huh?” She said while crying.

“I really like you…I love you… But as a friend.”

“𝘈𝘊𝘊𝘌𝘗𝘛𝘈𝘕𝘊𝘌 𝘐𝘕 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘔𝘐𝘋𝘚𝘛 𝘖𝘍 𝘗𝘈𝘐𝘕”

For once, Rue didn’t feel like going to school, the event of last night drained her energy but still forced herself to get up and got to school for the sake of her grades.

Rue soppily went to the bathroom and stared at her reflection, visible eye bag and eyes puffy due to all the weeping and sobbing last night.

It got her thinking what made her so devastatingly emotional when she haven’t experience a single breakdown for a long time.

Time skipped as she went to her school, arriving early for a change of pace. Her number one priority is to avoid her childhood best friend.

Luck was not by her side as she was face to face by the infamous, Alex Fuemmeler. Both are shocked by each one’s appearances as they both quickly avoided each other.

Rue went to class as her mind is still clouded with the childhood best friend, it seem as though her mind was being a female dog.

Soon, she thought of her online friend, even though she had mentioned to Alex that she has feelings for Tyrone, rue wasn’t entirely sure of the thought because of the fact that she only met Tyrone a few days ago.

Pulling out her phone, Rue opened her conversation with Tyrone seeing 30 missed messages from him.

It was mostly consisted of memes which made Rue chuckle, typing out her response, she was oblivious with the pair of eyes staring right at her.

Alex sighs in sadness, staring right at the girl that he’s madly in love with, cellphone at hand, his eyes filled with anguish and bitterness because she was yet again texting her-so-called online friend, Tyrone.

An arm clung around his shoulders and snapped his daze from the childhood friend.

“Bro, you alright?”

Alex was met face to face with his buddy, Cover.  Worry was evident in his eyes for his best friend. Alex forced out a smile and muttered;

“I’m fine bro, no need to worry about me.”

Cover them removed his arm around Alex with furrowed brows and replied with;

“Whatever you say bro, just tell me when you need anything, I’ll be here aight.”

A small ‘Yeah, yeah’ was the only reply that Cover received, he was still worried for his friend but decided to give him the space he needed.

The homeroom teaches was nowhere to be seen as it was a signal for the students to have their free time. They loudly talked among themselves, Alex thought that it was a good idea to listen to a song, the loud chatter was giving him a headache.

Taking out his ear buds and phone, he played the song that was fitting for his mood.

‘So I never really knew you, God I really tried to.’

His rested his head on his armchair as his thoughts lingered back to Rue, thinking about her made his chest heavy especially the thought of Rue liking someone.

Alex reminisced his past with Rue, him being Rue’s partner in crime since the beginning, wanting to stay by her side when they grow old together.

‘Thought we could really do this but really I was foolish.’

A flashback now filled his mind, guess thinking so much about a person makes you remember what you and that person did in the past.

“Hey RueRue?”

Called an innocent young boy to his friend, they were currently playing outside, collecting flowers and bugs.

“Yes?”

Squeaked the little girl, flower at hand.

A young Alex took hold of her hands and declared;

“Promise me that you’ll marry me when we grow up.”

A smile adorned on the little girls face and shouted a loud, “Yes.”

‘Young people fall in love with the wrong people sometimes.’

Alex now focused his attention on the main girl at hand. Noticing that she was still on her phone, chuckling once in a while. He noticed that she was happy, and thought that;

‘If she’s happy, then I’m happy for her.’

A bitter smile was seen on his face, Alex finally accepted that him and his long-term love, were not meant to be.

‘In the end it’s better for me, that’s the moral of the story babe.’
