"I just don't get why you want to help her so bad."

Closing my locker I turned to face Lucy who for some reason brought Brad with her. "Because she's my friend and unlike you I would never do anything to hurt her." I said. She glares at me as she rolled her eyes. "Who said I hurt her? Lauren? Because if so then she's a fucking liar because she hurt me first. I just gave her a taste of her own medicine." She said.

As badly as I wanted to know what she was talking about the bell rang and I need to get to class for my final test of the year. I couldn't miss this because this one really counted and I needed good grades if I wanted to get out of here.

Sitting in class next to Lauren she gently held my hand as she played with my fingers. "Lo are you ok?" I asked softly. She nodded "yeah I'm just nervous for this test." She tells me. I chuckled softly. "Babe we both know that you are going to ace that test! You're special incredibly smart." I told her. Her cheeks blushed as she smiled at me "thanks DJ."

During the test I noticed that Lucy and Brad would look over at Lauren and just snicker at her for absolutely no reason and honestly it was starting to bug me but I couldn't say anything since we were all in the middle of a test and I didn't want to disturb anyone. Fuck this sucks!

"Hey would you maybe like to hang out today?" Lauren asked when we left class.

I nodded "yeah I'd love to. Plus you could help me with this paper I have to write." I said. Rolling her eyes playfully she chuckles. "Yeah I'll help you only if you promise that we can have ice cream on Friday." She said. I shrugged "sure." I agreed. Lauren smiled happily as she hugs me. "Great see you then."

It was the last class of the day and unfortunately I got stuck sitting next to Lucy who wouldn't stop glaring at me. "Do you have a probably Lucy?" I asked coldly. She scuffs "oh please! You're the last thing on my mind." She snaps. "Good then stop looking at me like you have a problem." I snapped.

Lucy turns her chair to look at me. "Or what? What are you going to do Dinah?" She asked harshly. I could feel my anger boiling over but I couldn't fight her or I'm really going to fuck up my future if I do that and I refuse to ruin anything over Lucy. She's not worth it. "Lucy let's just get this over with so I never have to see you ever again." I muttered. She huffs "fine."

Class ended a lot slower than I would have liked but at least it's over. Walking out of class I smiled when I saw Lauren standing by my locker. "Hey Lauser." I greeted as I walked up to her. She smiled "hey DJ. Are you ready?" She asked. I nodded as I grabbed the things I need for my paper tonight. "Yeah I'm ready."

Arriving back to my place we noticed a car in the driveway that neither of us have ever seen before and I knew Lauren was nervous about what we might be walking into and if I'm being honest so am I.

Walking inside my heart dropped when we saw Lauren's parents sitting on my couch. "What are you guys doing here?" She asked. Mike glared at her as he stood up. "You haven't been home in three days Lauren and we were starting to get worried." He said. "Yeah we've been calling you but you never answer. We had no choice but to come here." Clara says.

Lauren shook her head. "I've been here with Dinah or with Ally." She said. "Lauren the least you could do is tell us where you are." Clara snapped. Lauren chuckled dryly. "Oh please don't act like you care now. When you kicked me out you didn't care where I'd sleep at night or if I got murdered. So please stop acting like you actually care." She said harshly.

"But honey we do care about you." Mike said.

Lauren was on the verge of cracking so I gently held her hand in mine to held calm her down. "I promised Dinah I would held her with her paper so I'll be home later." She spoke softly. Clara rolled her eyes as she stood next to her husband. "Fine but you better be home by nine." With that said they left.
