My body shook as I walked hastily down the packed London streets. The freezing cold air nipping at my skin through the thin hoodie I stupidly decided to wear. My feed softly padded along the floor and I tried my hardest not to bump into strangers on my journey. I loved this time of year, the Christmas lights illuminating any spot their light can reach. I loved the scent of mulled wine mixed with cinnamon sticks which floated through the air and filled my nostrils. The sight of the children beaming with joy and happiness was enough to make me grin from ear to ear. It took me back to my childhood, the belief of Santa Claus running through my veins as I ran down the stairs on the 25th of December.

I was snapped out of my thoughts and I reached my destination. Winter wonderland. Yes I know it's sad that I'm here by myself but I just love it, all my friends would laugh at me if they found out I enjoyed spending my time at a place for children. I can hear JJ laughing at me now. I looked up with a smile at the large sign above my head, 'Winter Wonderland - A Place Of Christmas Magic'. It truly was magical, even for me at my 'old age'. My footsteps almost quickened as I entered, my eyes gazing around all the rides and stalls that filled the park. I rubbed my gloves hands together lightly, trying to produce some sort of heat as I was unbelievably cold - I never seemed to dress correctly for cold weather. I watched as parents tried hard to keep up with their giddy children, slightly chuckling to myself as I watched.

"You can't be here all by yourself pretty boy" My body turned swiftly, my mind snapping out of the trance I was in. I turned round to be met with the face of a man. He was slightly shorter than me, his piercing green eyes seemed to be searching my soul. Creepy. He had a beard, brown hair and was wrapped up in a large coat.

"D-don't call me that, I don't even know who you are." I snapped whilst trying to sound intimidating and unaffected. I was trying to stand up for myself however he just smirked at my attempt.

"What's your problem? I was merely trying to start a conversation handsome." He spoke, his tone not threatening but cheeky. I just looked at him. My eyebrows furrowed together and I tried to comprehend what to say next. I can't lie to you, he is attractive but how can I trust him? I have no idea who he is.

"L-leave me alone. Stop calling me names." I stated grumpily, my hands almost staring to shake and not from the cold. I watched his face almost comfort into a frown as he put his hands up in defence.

"So I can't even compliment you? Sheesh" He said, ending it with a scoff. I just rolled my eyes in response. I turned around away from him and started to walk, not being hesitant with my movements one bit as I wanted to get away from the situation quickly. I heard him trying to stop me but I just ignored him and kept walking.

I don't really trust people, other than my friends. It takes me a while to open up, I still don't open up too often at all. My best friend JJ knows everything about me and he is the only one, I trust him with everything. My thoughts almost clouded my vision and I didn't seem to be enjoying myself much at all anymore. I just sighed, feeling almost defeated. I tried hard to calm myself down as my nimble fingers knitted together in an attempt to stop the shaking.

I walked over to the food stall in hopes to lift my spirits a bit. After waiting in line for about 5 minutes I got to the front of the queue. I already had my money in my hand and I had counted it several times to make sure I had enough. I mustered up my courage and walked up to the window.

"Hi there, can have a portion of chips with ketchup and a h-hot chocolate please" I said, silently scolding myself for being this nervous. I refused to meet the eyes of the worker in embarrassment.

"Of course. Is that a small, medium or large hot chocolate sir?" The woman's voiced questioned her fingers lightly tapping on the iPad she was using to take orders.

"Medium please." I said with more confidence than before, I met her eyes and she smiled at me.

"That will be £5 please" She said sweetly, I nodded and handed her the exact change I had counted about 37 times over. She handed me my receipt with a smile and I moved over to the waiting area. I fiddled with the paper in my hands as they almost became clammy underneath my gloves. I quickly took them off, feeling my exposed skin against the cold winter air. I shoved my gloves in my pocket and waited patiently for my order.

"Portion of chips and a medium hot chocolate?" I nodded, however I was facing the ground and not to the worker. I looked up to grab my order and my eyes met that of the man I was talking to before. When I say talking, I mean me trying desperately to get out of the conversation as quick as possible.

"Well hello again pretty boy." The man said, I smirk playing on his lips. His eyes glistened almost in amusement that we ran into each other again. I stood dumbfounded, I scoffed and looked down shuffling my feet. I felt nervous but safe at the same time. My hands weren't shaking like they normally would which was strange for me.

"I told you to stop calling me that" I said, trying  to convince myself that it was weird. However I was truly enjoying it. A blush was playing on my cheeks however I was able to hide it easily with the large scarf wrapped wound my skinny frame.

"Hashtag sorry not sorry" He said mocking a girly tone. I tried hard not to laugh but I couldn't help myself. I let out a laugh however quickly covered my mouth in embarrassment. I felt like everyone was looking at me and I just shrunk my body further into the large coat I was wearing.

Josh visibly smiled, his white teeth showing. I showed a small smile back, almost warming up to him. His smile gave me some sort of reassurance. There was something different about him, I just don't know what.

"I-I've got to go" I said quickly, stumbling over my words like I always do. I turned round, trying to pick my walking pace up fast. His smile was playing in my mind even though he was only a couple of metres behind me.
I suddenly felt a warm hand on my shoulder, stopping me completely in my track. I turned round alarmed only to be met with those soothing green eyes again. He'd run after me.

"Before you leave, I didn't catch your name." He asked in a soft tone in a way that made me feel comfortable. I felt like I had know him forever when I saw that smile adorned on his face once again. I blushed slightly, which he caught making him chuckle.

"I'm Simon." I said, holding my hand out for him to shake. He smirked, taking my hand in his with one motion.

"Josh" He stated, still shaking my hand and looking into my eyes. I felt like all my fears washed away. After a couple of seconds he broke the contact and sighed looking at the floor.

"I'm sorry Simon, I have to go back to work. Enjoy your hot chocolate handsome" He said, winking at me before he turned round and ran back to his stall. I felt like my face was as red as a tomato. How did he make me feel like this?

I took a sip from my hot chocolate and noticed a small folded piece of paper stuck to the cup. I look quizzically at the paper and ripped it off the cup. My fingers unfolded the small item and there was a message.

'Call me pretty boy, 08635 xxxxxx
- Josh :)'

My face almost exploded with embarrassment even though no one was watching me. I smile widely. That Josh boy was something else.
