"Girl shut up." I giggled at my bestfriend and her stupidity. I was on a Facetime call with Aliana while brushing my teeth. She giggled and flipped her perfect blonde hair behind her.
"But girl you are in NEW YORK! I mean that is the land of opportunities...to get a hot boyfriend." She exclaimed. "Plus your friend Brandon is HOT. You should definitely make your move bitch." She shrugged.
"I definitely don't think that's what that slogan means Allie." I rolled my eyes and used the towel to wipe my mouth.
"And I don't like him like that at all. He is just a friend." I told her in a stale tone. In return she rolled her eyes at me.
"Oh come Caye! Not even a little fling? You haven't dated anyone since Dill-"
"Don't." I interrupted her with a sharp tone. Her facial expression turned to one of regret.
"I'm sorry Caye. I didn't mean to bring him up." She said, tucking a piece of hair like she normally did whenever she was nervous or said something wrong.
I sighed. "Its okay." It definitely wasn't. Just hearing his name makes my heart pound. If I never see or hear of that person again, it would be too soon.
"So are you excited for your first day tomorrow?" She changed the subject to change the mood as I walk from the bathroom and into the kitchen.
"Definitely." I propped the phone on the kitchen counter and decided to make some coffee, something the asshole had bought yesterday. He was probably going to wring my neck for touching it but I couldn't care less. I wasn't afraid of him.
"Caye!" Alianna's voice interrupted my train of thought. "Mmm." I leaned off the counter, giving her my attention. She gave me a weird look and continued.
"So as I was saying I changed my mind about living on campus. Mom and dad got me this cute little apartment about 10 minutes away." She said.
"What? Why?" I asked, confused.
She shrugged. "I just didn't want to anymore. I wanted my own space." "
"Are you sure?" I asked pouring my coffee into a mug adding a packet of sugar.
She nodded. "I mean I am 19. I am perfectly capable of living on my own."
"Well at least mom and dad got you an apartment in like a day. You're so spoiled. You know that right?" I teased her. "When you have money you can have a lot of things."She winked.
I laughed loudly at her ridiculousness.
"And bitch don't act like they didn't spoil you too. You could have travelled to New York in this jet but no of course you wanted to fly public." She rolled her eyes at me. Aliana was on her parent's private jet right now flying to London. She had some phobia of public flying and flat out refused to fly anything but private. Her parents were rich enough for her never to fly commercial again so she was okay. They had offered the jet to me for my trip but I refused the offer. I didn't need any extra attention or benefits. I just needed to blend.
She grimaced as I took a sip of my coffee.
"I still can't understand how you drink your coffee like that. That is positively repulsive." A look of disgust covered her angelic features. I stuck my tongue out at her and took another sip.
"Ugh I wish I was living in an apartment with you." I complained poking my bottom lip out. "I told your dumbass to come to London with me but no you just had to be in New York didn't you?" She said smirking at me. I rolled my eyes at her for like the hundredth time and moved to sit on the couch.
