Together, they all walked off of Artemis's driveway. They started on the sidewalk and Artemis stopped. Valor turned to him.

"What is it?" she asked.

"We don't have a plan," he remarked.

"Yeah we do," Tobi said in a monotone, thinking of something else. "Find shadow, kill shadow, take mom, and come back."

"I mean like a specific plan," he said. "Like, how are we going to find the shadow?"

Tobi thought about it for a while. "Well, we have to find clues."

"But how?"

"I don't know... look for signs? Anything it might have left behind... or anything mom left behind."

"Hmmm... maybe," Artemis said. "Now, what do we do when we find Kristal?"

"Well," Valor started, "We first need to kill or destroy the shadow permanently."

"And... how do you suppose we do that?" Artemis asked.

"I don't know," Valor mumbled, kicking a rock. "We'll come up with an idea as we travel along."

"Let's see... we shouldn't be traveling west because that's where most of the humans all reside. Phoenix would probably be locating himself towards the northeast, where most magic hides. I suggest we should go there first and see where that takes us. What are his powers?"

"Immortality, Fire... and worst of all, love magic." She cringed.

"Oh..."

"He's also related to mom in some sort of way," Tobi reminded him. Behind them, Patience and Hassa were having their side conversations.

I'm hungry! Patience announced.

Hassa sighed, "When are you not, creature?"

When do you think it's lunchtime?

"I don't know, midday?"

Hmm... good answer. I wonder what time it is now? Wait... I smell fish. Ooooh! Are we having fish for lunch? Oh my God! I love fish! Especially cod! It is SOOO good! In fact, I could go for some cod right now. No, wait... better yet, a cod SANDWICH! Yeah! That'll help! Hey Hassa, do you like cod sandwiches? I never had any cod sandwiches in my life. Have you had any? Are they good?

"Oh my goodness," Hassa grunted. "I can't believe I have to keep up with this-"

Tobi looked back at Hassa and Patience. "Stop getting side-tracked guys. We need you to stay alert in case something happens."

"Right," Hassa said, eyeing Patience, who was focusing on kicking a pinecone around.

Aaahhh, she cooed. I sure do love pinecones!

Valor patted Patience's head. "Me too!"

"Yeah you love them so much, you kick 'em around," Artemis said grinning.

"You guys are literally delusional," Tobi muttered, rolling her eyes.
