Cupcakes - Vinny Mauro

You walked into your boyfriend's house and before you could even get to the kitchen, you heard the crashing of cymbals ring throughout the house. The sudden loud noises made you jump, thankfully you didn't lose any of the groceries that were all in your hands. You were currently staying with Vinny because the lease on your apartment was up and you didn't have enough money to pay for another month. It was kind of soon for you to move in with Vinny since you only started dating 2 months ago, but so far everything was going good.

You walked over to where the sound of the drums were coming from, which was Vinny's practice space. As you walked into the small room, you noticed how focused Vinny was on playing. This made you smile. He always was so determined to play everything correctly even if he had to do it over again. You watched as he kept playing the same fill over and over again.

After a few minutes of him playing the same drum fill over and over again, he finally looked over noticing you. You smiled at him and gave him a small wave as he set his drum sticks down on his drum. Vinny ran over to you and picked you up carefully giving you a tight hug.

"I MISSED YOU!" You laughed listening to him scream before wrapping your arms around his neck. Even though you had only been gone for an hour but you honestly missed him just as much as he missed you.

"I missed you too!" He laughed and set you back down on the ground. You could tell that he had been practicing for a while considering that his hair was extremely poofy and he was definitely sweaty.

"So what'd you get at the store?" He smiled and walked out of the room and over to the kitchen with you following behind him.

"Oh you know just all of your favorites, and I bought cupcakes for us to make later!" You laughed and back hugged Vinny as he dug through the bags seeing what you had gotten him. He smiled and pulled out the almonds that you had gotten him

"Okay maybe you just need to live with me forever if you're gonna buy me almonds!" He laughed and turned around while you still were hugging him.

"Hey I won't complain!" You laughed as Vinny opened the almonds and started eating them already. If there was anything that boy loved more than you, it was definitely almonds. You smiled and pulled the cupcake mix out of the grocery bag and started reading the back of the box.

"Gosh I don't remember cupcakes being this difficult to make." You laughed and leaned your elbows on the table trying to make sense of the directions. Vinny made his way next to you still chomping on the almonds and he tried to read the back of the box as well.

"You just had to buy the most difficult ones huh?" Vinny laughed and back hugged you carefully. You smiled at his sudden touch and leaned your head back onto his shoulder.

"It's not my fault, I just wanted to have a cute date night..." You frowned and set the box down on the counter. Maybe you could just make cookies instead or something.

"Oh come on your not gonna give up just because of some stupid cupcakes are you?" Vinny laid his head on your shoulder and laughed softly. He was right, it would have been stupid to just give up on some cupcakes. You looked up at him and smiled before speaking.

"Let's make the best damn cupcakes ever." The two of you laughed before Vinny ripped the box open and you went to grab a bowl. Even if they didn't work, at least you were spending quality time with your boyfriend.
