*the next day*

I've had too much on my mind since yesterday. Finding a job is the best way to get rid of my thoughts. I took out my computer and tried looking for jobs.

*mom comes in*

"Arissa, honey? Do you have a minute to talk?"

"Yeah, mom. What's up?"

"I don't know what you have been going through lately but can you do one favor for me and grandpa?"

I nodded my head.

*mom hands an invitation rolled up and tied with a ribbon to Arissa*

"Go to this event and represent your grandpa and I. The people that host this does it every year but you've been gone for quite some time and now that you're back, I think you should go to this event. It's a masquerade party and I think you will have a lot of fun. You can also invite one person to go with you or if you prefer to go alone. They do some pretty fun activities there and I want you to participate so that you will feel better. You will meet lots of new people and faces so you don't have to see the ugly faces at home all the time."

I laughed.

"Alright, mom. I'll go but this is the last time I go to one of these events."

*mom smiles*

"The event is in three days so you need to find a dress and a mask. Do you want to invite anyone?"

I really hope mom wasn't thinking of Zane.

"How about you find me a dress and mask? You have better fashion style than me."

"Deal."

I smiled.

*the day of the event*

My mom picked out a long red dress with the back cut open. The mask was black and laced. I decided to ask Liam to go to the event with me. He agreed and was going to pick me up.

*Liam arrives*

I put on the dress and the mask with my hair curled and some jewelry.

*grandpa, Adam, and Liam all waited downstairs*

"Please welcome my beautiful princess and daughter, Arissa!"

Mom announcing me coming down the stairs was a little excessive. As I walked down I saw Liam wear a nice white tuxedo with a black mask covering one side of his eye and face like Phantom of the Opera. This particular scene reminded me of Zane. I wish that we had never went to that party so that he would never have met Charlotte.

"Wow! My granddaughter looks beautiful."

"Thank you grandpa."

*Adam faces Liam*

"You look nice Liam."

"Thank you uncle."

*Liam shyly smiles*

"Get her home before midnight or you won't have legs to walk tomorrow."

*Adam made a serious face*

I laughed.

"Adam, don't scare him now. We'll get going now."

*Liam drives to the event*

I unbuckled my seat belt and Liam opens the door for me. As much as I appreciate his effort, I am reminded of Zane each similarity Liam and Zane did.

"Thank you."

We entered the event with the masks and there were a lot of people. It wasn't a club but it felt like one. Many rich people were here tonight all fancied up.
