It was just a normal day in intelligence. We didn't have a case to work so we did paperwork and just hung out until we caught a case or shift was over. It may seem like just an ordinary day to you but something life altering was about to go down.
Trudy came upstairs with a man and a little girl. "Hey Hailey this man wants to speak with you." One look over and my mouth was on the floor. "Hey Jacob hows you family- YOU DIDNT." I yelled. Everyone looked out way and Adam ran over to take away the little girl knowing something was about to go down. "Wait everyone shut up for a second." Adam said. The room went silent. Adam pulled my shoulder to spin me around so I was facing him. He lifted up the little girl so she was level with my height and said "Soooooo are we taking bets." I give him the death stare and he smartly walks away without saying anything else. "Hailey it isn't a danger to her anymore and both her adopted parents just died." He said but I was still so mad. "We had a deal Jacob and that means-yesssssss. I can finally tell her." I run over to my desk and pick up my phone. He is trying to stop me but I dial the number to his wife's phone and it starts to ring. I put it on speaker so everyone can hear. "Heyy Eva it's Hailey Upton I think there something about your husband you need to know." I say with a big smile. "What is it Hailey. He is at a conference this weekend." She replied but I just laugh. "Yeah he is a cheater and a pathological liar. He isn't at a conference he is here with me in Chicago right now. See a while ago I made a deal with him. When Garrett went missing and I was pregnant I put our kid up for adoption and he was the only one to know. We agreed that we would keep each others secrets to the grave but he just showed up to my work with my daughter so I think it is best that you know, your husband is engaged to a MAN and every weekend he lies about having a conference so he can visit his fiancé. He was planning on asking for a divorce when he came back but I guess you should know now. Oh and before I go let me make it clear he isn't Bisexual he is flat out Gay and was only with you because of your money. Honestly I think he would've left you sooner if not for your 3 kids. Have a nice evening I hope we can talk soon." I smile at Jacob and leave because our shift is over. Everyone is just staring at me but I walk out.
