The fireworks started indicating the start of the New Year and that signifies the end of my past. The past that haunted me. The past that haunted me and made me miserable. All the fake people around me.All the judgements that I get.All the betrayals from everyone I have ever trusted more than myself. Now, everything is just seconds behind me and I'm off to have a fresh start.---FEW YEARS BACK---
~~2 JANUARY 2012~~
"Hooray!First day of primary school!" I said excitedly, holding my dad's hand. I have just started primary school and was really ecstatic. Growing up, it was just me, Grandpa, Grandma, Mum and her younger brother, Uncle Sheron. They are everything to me. Mum got married when I was six. At that age, I didn't know about many things in life and Mum introduced me to Peter when I was five, which is a very young age. I was just six and naive and that time so I didn't suspect anything wrong and different.
I went inside the school with Dad and Mum. I entered the classroom and took a seat in front of a girl. I was enrolled in a convent school by the way. Mum looked at me from the window as I smile at the girl. "Talk to her, Rita. She won't bite you," Mum said. I am a friendly girl so I introduced myself to her. "Hi, I'm Rita Wilwood," "I'm Daisy Prudose," the girl replied shyly.
The teacher came in and told us that the orientation exam will soon start. All of us took our pencil boxes out and the papers were soon given out. All of us started answering the questions. There was one question where we must colour the picture given for the art qualification. "Oh! I didn't bring my colour pencils," Daisy said sadly. "It's okay. You can borrow mine. I have a whole box of them," I said taking out my colour pencils.
After the exams, I said goodbye to Daisy and went home with my parents. I was so happy and told Mum that I hope to her in the first class. "Sure enough you will," Mum said ruffling my hair. She put me to bed and slept on her bed. It was a double-decker bed so I slept on the top bunk while Mum slept in the down bunk with Dad. I hugged my cute dog plushie which was black and brown in colour and slept peacefully. The plushie was with me since the day I born. I named it Puppy.
On Monday morning, I pack my bags, ready for school. I held Mum's hand as we walk to the first classroom that was there. There was a list stuck on the door. Mum looked at it and scanned my name. I was enrolled in the first class. I looked up at Mum, smiling widely. She walked into the classroom and a teacher was standing there arranging the name tags. She turned at smiled at me sweetly. "Name?" she asked.
"Rita, Rita Wilwood," I said and Mum nodded.
"Here's your badge," the teacher said handing the badge to Mum.Mum put the badge on my uniform and we went to the assembly hall. There were quite a lot of students there. A prefect showed me where I should stand. Mum watched as I stood in my class line. I saw a lot of 7-year-olds just like me which made me excited to make new friends. The principal welcomed us all and gave a really long speech. Then, we all walked to our classes. I sat at the second-row table in the centre.I saw my classmates walking in one by one. Most of them seemed like they know each other and there was me, sitting quietly, knowing no one in particular.
I looked for Daisy but she was nowhere to be seen. I assumed that she got a different class. Just as I took out my book, a girl came and sat right next to me. She was thin and beautiful. She smiled at me, shyly.
"Hello, I'm Rita. Rita Wilwood," I said being friendly.
"Hi, I'm Petunia Kayde," she answered.
"Nice to meet you. I hope we will be best of friends,"
"Hope so,"
