Miracle Finders (Introduction)

"Good Morning Everyone," I said as I entered the office.

"Morning Boss," they replied in unison. Some people were already typing away while some are casually making coffee and chatting about the latest news.

It was nice seeing the office packed with busy people again. It was like life has returned back to normal. A soft smile appeared on face. "It's good to be back."

"Hey Boss," a voice of a young man around your age called to you from behind. I turned to see Minor, a former classmate and a fellow coworker, walking towards you with a stack of files.

"Here are the guest candidates for the next season of Miracle Finder," he said, handing me the files. "I've added in Prof. Lucien and Gavin. They're the most iconic guests stars after all."

The thought of Lucien and Gavin made me smile. "Thanks Minor," I said, accepting the files and supporting them with both hands. "I'll look through them as soon as I get to my desk."

As I have turned around, a small glimmer seemed to have caught his eye. It was something that I hoped he, or the other coworkers won't notice and that I would announce it to them myself later. After a few steps, he quickly caught up to me and grabbed my left hand.

The files he had given me all fell to the floor as he pulled my hand closer to his faced and looked straight at my ring finger. A golden ring with a small diamond on top shimmered in the light, exposing my little secret.

"YOUR ENGAGED?!" He exclaimed. I was highly aware that everyone in the office was staring at me with a shocked look on their face. "Uh...yeah?" Was all I could say. "This wasn't part of the plan," I thought as I stood there being half embarrassed and half dying inside. Everyone was already gossiping out loud and even started giggling. 

Anna, Kiki, and Willow rushed in the room because of the commotion (and because of Minor's screams). They're reaction was no less dramatic. After about 2 minutes of silence, they all hugged me tightly.

"Congratulations sweetheart," Anna said, hugging me the hardest. I swear I hear some sobs in her voice as she squished me harder. "Does this mean I get to be your bride's maid?" Willow asked. We all gave her a look that made her rethink her chances of living. "Hey," she said in defense. "I'm just kidding."

Sweet little Kiki was obviously about to explode. "I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOUUUU!" She manage to blurt out in tears. She cried some more before we finally managed to calm her down with another hug. "Aww, thanks you guys," I said as I released everyone from the hug. It wasn't until everyone has finally composed themselves when Willow asked one of the most important question anyone has ever asked me. 

"So, who's the luck guy?"
