MORE SONG FICS FOR MY SOUL AND CONVEX ANGST!

Please don't steal my kneecaps I just want angst.

I'll provide context at the bottom but what's important is that Cub and Scar are vex hybrids and age very slowly. Cub can control his magic very well while Scar hasn't yet developed his properly. They have a brother like relationship, well at the start at least.

Lyrics have been changed a bit.

Scar giggled as Cub moved the shapes to form different animals. Cub smiled back and glanced around. This place was perfectly safe, especially to hide someone for a few days while Cub looked for a place for them to hide.

"Here in the garden let's play a game." Cub reached out and grabbed Scars hand and they both stood up. Scar looked curiously at the older vex as Cub patted his head jokingly.

"I'll show you hows it's done." Cub gently guided the other to a small pond and to a small blanket.

"Here in the garden, sit very still. This'll be so much fun!" Cub smiled brightly as Scar sat down on the comfy blanket. Scar always liked games so he smiled back brightly.

"And then he smiled that's what I'm after! The smile in his eyes, the sound of his laughter." Cub summoned some snacks and food for Scar who immediately became preoccupied with it.

Cub then turned and walked away, to find a place safe for them. Safe for his brother and him. Anywhere but here.

"Happy to listen. Happy to play. Happily watching him drift away."

Days pasted as Scar waited for his brother to return. He sat on the blanket, slept on it or explored a bit. He found some blackberries he knew were safe to eat.

"Happily waiting, all on my own. Under the endless sky." Out in the woods the the night sky was filled with amazing constellations, Scar didn't know many of course only ones Cub used to point out to him.

"Counting the seconds, standing alone. As years go by." He has learnt how to fend for himself mostly. He taught himself how to do magic and summoned some clean clothes. They looked like some adventurers clothes he had seen in a comic book Cub gave him once. He counted each day as they went never forgetting the promise his older brother made to him.

"Happily wondering, night after night. Is this how it works? Am I doing it right?" Had Cub finally got sick of him? He did always hinder them when out on the streets by being clumsy. And his magic wasn't that strong. He couldn't even fight properly. But he had learnt! He made the pond area beautiful with his magic so when Cub came to get him he would be proud.

"Happy to listen. Happy to stay. Happily watching him drift away." Scar had learnt a lot in the forest. He made friends with the animals and learnt how to use his magic to communicate with them. But all he wanted deep down was, as always, his brother to return.

"You keep on turning pages for people who don't care. People who don't care about you.
And still, it takes you ages to see that no one's there. See that no one's there. See that no one's there.
Everyone's gone on without you"

It was a normal day when Scar realised why Cub never came back. Because Cub didn't care about him. He had simply been abandoned so Cub could go on with his life instead of having his little brother trailing after him.

Cub never cared about him.

"Finally something. Finally news. About how the story ends."
Scar worked up the courage to do a spell he had been putting off for ages. He didn't want to believe Cub had abandoned him. But as he leaned over the water and chanted the spell what came up made him sick.

"He doesn't exist now. Survived by his magic. And all of his brand new friends."

It was Cub, older but Scar could tell it was Cub. He wasn't wearing the scraps they had before instead a clean lab coat. He was talking to a group of people who all looked so strange.

He really has abandoned Scar. His own family had abandoned him.

"Isn't that lovely? Isn't that cool? And isn't that cruel? And aren't I a fool to have-"

Scar broke down crying, smashing the water in anger and the image rippled away. He was such a fool to have happily stayed here in the 'garden' as Cub called it.

"Happy to stay. Happily watching him drift-
Drift~"

He cried for ages. Feeling a deep emptiness. His magic sparked outwards as animals attempted to comfort him, but he shook them away. He just needed to be alone.

The magic told him Cub was in a place called Hermitcraft.

Maybe he should visit this place and remind Cub he existed. Since his 'brother' obviously forgot that.

"Drift away~"

Convex angst for the soul. Please don't murder me.
