100 Days in Hell

Day 15

I return to the base for the night for i am sleepless. I finally fall asleep for some time. I am awoken by the sounds of gun fire. I make sure everyone is safe and asleep at base and grab my equipment to go back to the site. I kiss my kids and wife goodbye. I lock the doors behind me and arrive at the base as the firing ceases. I peek carefully and see injured men and women as well as some of the creatures. I carefully come out from the tunnel and scout the area. When i found the others, they explained that the serum created by from the creatures blood with human blood worked a little too well. Apparently the lab assistant that was tested on took the properties of the creatures and called them here when they attacked the men fought back and died as well as the creatures. We lost good men and women. I start to worry for the people back at base. I run back to base through the tunnel and make sure everything is okay and everyone is safe. I set more traps around the base for security and brought in what the traps had caught. Thankfully the trap had caught three creatures and i was able to obtain the blood. I labeled the blood and examined it when i got back to the site. I studied the genetic make-up of the creature and I do believe I have found why the blood combination did not work. I quickly got everyone to make protective gear for any open skin. I explained that the creatures blood contained a certain strand or DNA that is acidic to human blood as well as human skin. I even started working with the scientist there to mutate human DNA so it wouldnt be disintegrated by the acid in the aliens blood. After working I gathered people from the site to make a protective barrier around the site. I started to gather materials needed and i started working on new traps with the technology available at the site. We are in need of a new plan formulation strategy. We start tomorrow. As i fell asleep i prayed for the lost souls. Tomorrow is another day.
