Ever since that time with Ari, he never showed up to school. It has seemed that his family did face bankruptcy and faced charges.
It didn't matter to you. You and Ari were nothing more but strangers since that moment. You honestly thought he was a kind gentleman and it made you sad that he had done such a thing.
"(Y/N)-chan!" Honey leapt into your arms. "Honet-senpai, is there anything you need?" You smiled at the boy.
"Nothing much," he said. "I'm just really excited about the party at your place tonight!" The twins came to you and nodded to Honey's words.
"We never really went inside, now have we, Kaoru?" Hikaru looks at his twin. "No, we have not, Hikaru," Kaoru said. The twins were jumping around the place all thrilled at the thought of going inside. "Oh, are we the first to see what looks like?"
You shook your head. "No, Kyoya was there long ago," you truthfully said which made the twins hang their mouths open. "She's right," Kyoya said and adjust his glasses. The twins whispered to each other with a mischievous grin on their faces.
"It will be your first birthday ball, correct?" Tamaki asked and you nod. You then turn to Haruhi. "Haruhi, I'd like for you to come home with me today," you said. The twins looked at you with a shocked expression. "Sure, Senpai, but why?" The petite girl asks.
"I'd like to give you something!" Is all you said and smiled at her.
-
"Uh, Senpai, this is great and all but.." The maids soon presented Haruhi. "But frilly dresses aren't my thing," she finished. You smiled warmly. "You can have it," you said. "It suits nicely on you than on me."
"But- thank you, Senpai," she said. You stood up and walked over to your desk and opened a drawer. "I've always wanted a little sister, you know?" You admittedly say. "I wanted to give her this in one of her birthdays." You walked over to the confused Haruhi with a velvet box in hand.
"Unfortunately, I never got that wish since my mother is infertile," you said and put your hand out. "And you are like the sister I wish to have so I am giving you this." Haruhi looks at the box for a while and then takes it from you and opens it.
"Senpai, you-" You cut her off. "It's yours now and no giving it back!" You said with a smile. "Now, the guests should be here soon. Let's go!"
You dragged Haruhi down the hall and to the main hall where you saw the guys chatting amongst themselves. Tamaki notices and waves at you two.
You walked forward with Haruhi, linking arms. "Wow, Senpai, you look great!" The twins exclaim and you thanked them. You saw Tamaki look at Haruhi for a while so you excused yourself from her.
You walked over to Kyoya with a smile. "Good evening, Kyoya!" You smiled ever so brightly. He turns his head and his gaze from his parents and yours to you. "Hello, (Y/N)," he said in his calm tone. "I must say, you look more beautiful than the rest here." You slightly blushed at his words but thanked him.
Soon, a mic turning on was hard and you all turned towards the staircase- where both of your parents stood alongside Kyoya's parents. "Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. Today is a very important day today," your father started, "today is the day of my daughter, (Y/N)'s, birthday!" He turns to look at you and so does the rest; the guests clapping with smiles.
"Also," it was Kyoya's father. "We'd like to announce the engagement between my son and their daughter!" Louder applauds and congratulations filled the room and then comes the dance. Since it was your special day, you were the one to start it.
"Well, my lady?" You turn to look at Kyoya. "May I have this dance?" He held out a hand and you accepted, with a smile on your faces.
More and more joined in the dance- even Tamaki and Haruhi and Mori and Honey. The twins were off playing pranks on the guest- whatever the pranks are.
"Are you enjoying this, my dear?" Kyoya asks with a smile. You nodded. "Yes. Although this isn't much fun than the one you guys held for me, but with you all around, it's alright," you said.
The night was still young as you two ate, chat, laughed, and danced the night away.
At first, you weren't too fond of the engagement, but now, you bit down on those words. Without the engagement, how would you ever get to see outside? More importantly, get to know Kyoya and the others?
This was certainly a blessing in disguise and you wouldn't want it any other way.
