The next few days went by without issue. There was no sign of the mysterious man that you knew so little about. He seemed to know so much about you though. How? If he was telling the truth the last time he appeared to you, you'd know soon enough.

As if that was his introduction, you heard the faint sound of an engine. You looked up from your rocking chair as it didn't sound like a normal plane. You looked up to where the sun had just set to see some kind of bird. But as you continued to stare, you saw that this was too big to be a bird. It was a plane with two black wings that were facing up towards the stars.

In the back of your head, you heard your subconscious screaming at you, "Run!"

But you couldn't. Your body was betraying you as you sat there like a deer in headlights. The plane landed, rocking you and your house as it did.

That's all you needed. The force of the plane landing snapped you out of your frozen state and sent you into a sprint. You jumped off your porch and into the darkening forest. You had the advantage, you knew this place like the back of your hand. In the distance you heard your pursuers crashing through the underbrush behind you. If you made it over the ridge, you knew you could hide in the caves that lined the ravine a short distance ahead.

A quick look behind you sent a fresh wave adrenaline surging through your body. Men in all white armor with guns running towards you. Walking closely behind them was the man you had seen so many times before.

This time it was different. The forest animals around you were shrieking in a panic, louder than you had ever heard them before.

As you ran farther and farther into the forest, you were having more and more difficulty. The forest was much denser here and you began to trip over roots and vines that lay in your path. It was no use running anymore. You wouldn't make it to the ravine like this. You had to find somewhere else to hide.

You frantically started looking around for anything that looked promising. To your dismay, the only thing around you were trees. You spotted a thick oak tree to your right and made a mad dash to it, praying that the men in white didn't notice.

They ran right past you. You let out a sigh of relief as you tried to steady your breath from the strenuous run. At that moment you felt how truly tired you were. You're legs and lungs were burning. Small cuts littered your legs from the undergrowth you had run through.
Your assessment of damage didn't last long. Your heart dropped to your gut as you remembered you didn't see the man in black pass you with the others. You needed to find a better place to hide and fast.

The sound of pulsing electricity in your ear forced you to turn and look to your left. Stopping mere inches from your head was a red, burning sword. You automatically stumbled away, tripping over a root, and landing with your butt on the rough forest floor. Looking up, you saw who was on the other end of the sword. The man in black.

He took a step towards you, causing you to panic once again. You attempted to half crab walk, half scoot away from him. Your hand landed on a large rock, cutting it in the process. Without skipping a beat, you picked it up and threw it towards your target. But before it made contact with the man in black's helmet, it stopped. You stared at the rock stuck in mid air, with only inches between it and the mask. You now realized that the rock wasn't the only thing frozen. You tried to move but couldn't. You began to panic in your state of paralysis.

He raised his sword up over his head, ready to cut you in half. You closed your eyes and braced for its impact. After what felt like hours, you opened your eyes and looked up to see him standing over you with the blade singing at his side. He raised his empty hand towards your head, then everything went black.
