Chapter Seven

I slowly make my way to the cafeteria, hoping that Kayla will get there before me.

Once I enter the room, a silence erupts when people notice me. I give a small sigh. I hear a few whispers throughout the room, making me give another small sigh.

Ignoring a large part of the people, I walk over to the line. Most of the people try taking a few steps back.

"Take the front," I hear a small voice say.

"I'm fine," I mutter.

"Take the front," I hear someone say louder.

I give a glare. "I'm not going to take the front of the line and get in front of all these people," I say.

"They said take the front, that means take the front," I hear a deep voice say. I feel the person place a hand on my shoulder and I feel sparks run through my shoulder.

I glance over my shoulder for a second and see Derek standing there. I don't know why, but I have a quick flash of the memory I had in P.E. My heart tells me it's him, my mind denies it.

He gives me a very small shove forward. I give a sigh, deciding not to fight with him.

I reach the front of the line and give them all an apologetic look. I quickly take a look over the options and grab a couple slices of triangular pizza. Each slice has three pepperonis and the crust looks like it's stuffed with cheese. I quickly grab a napkin and try to take a step away.

I get pulled back with a flash of sparks. I look over and see Derek standing there, being given a plate of meats.

After he takes the plate, he turns to the cafeteria. "Continue talking," his deep voice says.

I would be lying if I said I didn't have an attraction to his voice. A sudden buzz in the cafeteria breaks me from my thoughts.

"Come," he says, pulling me towards some of the tables.

"Nah," I mutter. "I told one of my friends I'd sit with them."

"You will sit with me," he growls. The way he says it, forces me to agree.

I drop my head. "Fine," I say quietly.

He nods and starts walking over to a group of tables. While walking, I see Kayla staring at me. I stare back at her. She gives me a questioning look and I reply back with a shrug.

About that time, he motions to an empty seat. I stare at it and then look over at him.

"Sit," he growls. I give a sigh and sit down. He quickly sits beside me.

I place my two slices of pizza on the table with a sigh. I take a quick glance at the people at the table.

The only one that looks familiar is Mylo's brother, Alec. Besides him and Derek, there are four other guys at the table. Two of them have blonde hair, one of them has light brown hair, and the last has dark brown hair.

Before I take in anything else about them, I drop my eyes back down to the two slices of pizza.

I hear the others talking while I sit there, I don't listen to them, I just continue looking down.

"Eat," I hear him say. I give a shrug and push the pizza a bit farther away.

I see a hand push it back towards me. I see the veins in his arms do that whole pop out a bit thing. I quickly glance away, knowing that I find that attractive.

"I said eat," he growls. I give a small sigh and pick up one of the slices of pizza. I silently take a couple bites before I put it back down.

The six of them continue to talk while I sit there. Every once in a while, if I hadn't taken a bite for a while, Derek would gently nudge my arm with his.

After a little while of sitting at the table, I knew all of them by name. I sat on the left side of Derek and on his right was one of the blondes. He had blue eyes while the other had green. The blue eyed one was Colten and the green eyed one was Jason.

The light brown haired one was Jaxon, who was sitting between the two blondes. On the other side of Jason was the dark haired Blake. Alex ended the circle by sitting on the right side of me.

By the time the bell rang, I was so ready to get out of there. It only took me seconds to get over where Kayla was.

"What was all that about?" she asked me.

"I have no fucking clue," I say. "But I am so ready to get out of here."

She gives a nod and starts walking out of the cafeteria. I notice that she is following a couple other girls. One of them has black hair that falls a bit past her boobs. She has bangs that are cut off directly above her eyes, which are a silver-gray color.

Next to her is a girl with baby pink hair that falls to about the same length as the other girl. She has no bangs, and her brown eyes are looking ahead.

Kayla notices me looking at the two girls. "Those are two of my friends," she says happily. "Alice is the one with black hair. And Layla is the one with pink. I was going to introduce you to them at lunch, but then the whole thing with Derek happened."

Alice quickly glances back. "I heard all the shit you did yesterday, you skipped out before Kay could introduce you," she says.

I give a small sigh. "Yeah sorry about that, I guess," I mutter.

She gives a shrug. "What class you got now?"

"Science, 181," I mutter.

She gives a nod. "That's on the other side of school."

"Great," I mutter, "walking."

She gives a small laugh. "You keep up the rep and you could probably get someone to carry you to all your classes," I hear a new voice say. I can automatically tell it is Layla.

I see Alice give a nod. "While you're at it, get me one too," she laughs.

I hear the girl beside her laugh. "Get us all one."

I quickly pull my phone out of my pocket and see that it is 11:44, a minute before the bell rings.

"You said on the other side of the school, right?" I ask.

"Yep," Alice says.

"Well I'll see ya all around then," I mutter.

Every one starts slipping into classrooms right as the bell rings. I give a sigh, realizing I'm late.

I quickly look over the room numbers and see the room I'm looking for. When I open the door, the teacher gives me a hard glare.

"What are you doing interrupting my class?" she asks.

"Sorry," I say. "I'm new here and I kinda got lost."

I hear her give a sigh. "Fine. Sit beside Derek," she says.

I take a glance around and see that she is motioning to the Derek I just got away from.

You have got to be kidding me. I think with a sigh. I silently walk over and sit by him. I feel his stare on me the whole time.
