You woke up in a sweat. You were hyperventilating; it was like your whole body was on fire. You threw off your sheets and rushed to the bathroom, turned on the light and looked in the mirror. Your cheeks were hot and your forehead was sweaty. You walked back to your bed and saw a sweat outline where you had been laying down. Never in all of your years of living on the Star Killer had you broken out into a sweat. You shot a look at your bedside clock; you were supposed to wake up in 30 minutes, why not start to get ready. You turned on the shower, not being able to stand the feeling of your body being hot and sticky. You set the shower to a very low setting, one to where there was little heat, causing an almost completely cold shower. There was no need to rush your shower routine since you woke up early. As you stood under the soothing cold stream of water, all that flashed in your mind was images from last night. Everytime you closed your eyes, all you could see was Kylo Ren's hand in a C like shape, force choking you to the edge of death. No amount of sleep, no amount of cold showers or cigarettes could wipe that memory away. Your body had finally cooled down and you stepped out of the shower. You dried off your hair and body, but ended up dropping the towel completely from fear of becoming hot again. You wiped off your mirror and did your skin care and daily makeup routine, letting your naked body breath. You walked over to your closet and examined the options you had to wear. You decided that today you would wear a long sleeve black shirt that was made out of breathable mesh material, and your stretch like pants (almost like leggings). They were still thick enough to be called pants and they had pockets. This was usually a leisure type of uniform, one that employees wore on their days off, but you chose today to wear it. Technically, it was your day off because you didn't directly teach class, but you couldn't risk getting another random hot flash due to fear later on in the middle of the day. After getting dressed, you slipped on your boots, walked over to the mirror, and wondered what to do with your hair. You examined it for a moment. 'A bun would be too tight and put too much stress on my head. But, if I leave it down would be disrespectful...' you thought. You decided to braid your hair into a loose braid. You could never do a tight and pretty braid...that was something Cara was good at. You looked around the room one more time, making sure you had everything you needed before you headed out. You remembered the list you had made yesterday and grabbed it. You shot one last glance at the clock. You would be heading out 5 minutes earlier than you usually did. As you turned off the lights and headed out of your room, a blast of cold air from the hallway softly hit your face. Something about your side of the building's heater being down today comforted you; one less problem that could cause another heat flash. As you walked slowly to the cafeteria, you felt a nudge on your arm. You looked over to the right and Yunuen was walking next to you.
"Good morning stranger." She said while catching up, trying to walk to your pace. You flashed her a faint smile. You were glad someone was here to take you away from your thoughts; from replaying last night over and over again.
"Morning woman. How did you sleep?" You asked, nudging her back.
"Great, those cigarettes really were a blessing." She said as you both turned into the cafeteria.
"Hey, um...when you were walking back into your room last night, did anyone catch you out? Like, did anyone spot you sneaking back in?" You questioned. She literally left 2 minutes before you and nobody noticed her, but when you tried to sneak back inside you almost died at the hands of your boss.
"No, I came back in safely. Why, did you run into someone?" She said with a concerned look on her face. You both made your way to the pastry section and picked up your usual morning go to's: a chocolate muffin (you) and a bran muffin (her).
"No, no one really. I saw a stormtrooper in the hallway but he didn't talk to me, just let me pass by." You said looking down. You were lying. Half of you didn't want for her to be concerned, but another half was so embarrassed about the whole thing. You, (y/n), top pilot and instructor, was caught breaking the rules. Smoking cigarettes late at night? It just wasn't like you; it wasn't possible. You couldn't risk information like that leaking out, you would be crushed and embarrassed. Your colleagues wouldn't look or treat you the same if they found out.
