By the time Soobin had gotten home that day, his Mom had barely finished making dinner. Soobin thought the house smelled good. He loved his mom's cooking.

He never really talked openly to his mom about himself if he was honest. For some reason, Soobin found more comfort in his close friends than his mother. Soobin was always confused by that.

"Well, hello, Sweetie. How was School?" His mom asked while setting their plates on the table. She signaled for Soobin to sit down.

As he sat down, he answered his mom.
"It was like usual, Mom. Nothing much." Soobin shrugged as his mom sat down across from him.

"I heard that Kai and his family are back. Did you see him today?"

"Yeah."

They sat through some silence while eating their food before Soobin's mom spoke again.

"Y'know, you and Kai have known each other for just around four years. Yet I get the feeling that you've already talked to him way more than you'll ever talk to me." She chuckled a bit. "There's nothing going on between you two, right?"

Soobin sighed and swallowed the bit of food he had in his mouth before responding. "No, nothing at all, Mom. We're just close."

"Closer than me and you?"

"Mom-"

"I'm just playing." She chuckled again. "And even if there were something going on between you and... just anyone, you can tell me okay? Boy or girl or whatever."

Soobin smiled. "Well, thanks Mom. I guess."

Then Soobin's phone started buzzing in his pocket. He grabbed it out of his pocket to see the caller ID.
"Soobin-"
"It's just Kai, Mom. I'll just tell him to call back later."

Soobin answered and heard Kai's voice.
"Hey Soobin, I just called cause you gotta tell me about that Yeonjun guy!"
Soobin held back a sigh. Kai always was that one person who wanted to know everything about everyone. So this wasn't a surprise to Soobin.

"I'm at the dinner table, Kai. Call me back later."

"Well, fine but just know I'm calling back in exactly fifteen minutes so you better be done by then!"

"Okay, Bye."

Soobin hung up as soon as he said bye.

Then later, Soobin answered his buzzing phone.

"Soobin, tell me everything"

So Soobin did.

"Oh my god. That's such a cute story that you guys can tell your kids in the future when they ask how you guys met!"
Kai exclaimed a little too loud over the phone. Soobin was on his bed in his room, talking to Hueningkai on the phone

"Kai, it's just a guy I helped out a bit. Not everything is a romantic, cheesy, Wattpad fanfiction." Soobin started to walking circles around his room.

"Fine, but if you don't want him, then maybe... tell him to call me?"

"Kai!"

"Just kidding! Well, kinda."

Soobin ended up plopping right onto his bed. He grabbed one of his molang plushies and hugged it with one arm.
"I don't have feelings for this guy-"
"Well not yet..." He could hear hueningkai mumble in the middle of his sentence. "Kai, I heard that." Soobin had a but of a serious ton in his voice that scared Hueningkai just a little bit.

"What? huh? oh I can't hear you! huh? oh the signal is getting really bad! krshhhhh oh no I need to hang up krshhhhh-"
Hueningkai imitated static noises.

"Just hang up, Kai." Soobin ran his fingers through his hair.

"krsh- yeah okay bye Soob!"

Kai hung up.

For the rest of the evening Soobin thought about a lot of things.

The next day at School, Yeonjun waited for Soobin outside in the schoolyard. When he saw Soobin, a smile instantly grew on his face.

"Soobin!" he waved at the taller boy. "I'll walk you to class when it's time to go! is that okay?" A smile still on his face. Soobin smiled back like usual. "Of course. I don't mind.

"It's getting cold outside. You don't have a jacket. Are you gonna be okay?" Yeonjun had a slightly concerned look in his eyes. Soobin shrugged it off. "It's fine."

It was not fine. Soobin was very sensitive to the cold but he didn't want to bother Yeonjun and take away his only jacket.

"Really? Just take it, you're shivering a bit. We'll have to wait out here for a while . Yeonjun was about to take off his jacket.

Soobin signaled him to stop. "Yes. I'm gonna be fine. It's not the first time I haven't had a jacket on a cold day." Now Yeonjun looked very clearly concerned.

"Whyyy, Soobin? You could get sick! Just take my jacket just this once!" He took of the jacket and handed it to Soobin.

Soobin declined again. "No! It's fine. I'm use to it."

"Come on, who are you? Elsa? I'll be fine Soobin. Take it, I insist!"

"No!" Soobin was shivering.

"Fine!"
Yeonjun quickly went behind Soobin and placed the jacket on his shoulders. The jacket already made Soobin feel much better and warmer. Soobin looked at the ground, avoiding eye contact with Yeonjun.

"W-what about you?"

"It's fine, if anything, that jacket was making me a little too warm. And you know what? you can keep it."

Soobin's eyes widened. "R-really?"  He placed his hands in the pockets and felt relief as his hands were warmed.

"Of course. I have like ten more at home. let's just get to class."

"Yeah, let's get to class."

Soobin started to think a lot more that day.
