chapter one

"I'm going out, mom!" Blake shouted from the back door so her mom could hear her leaving.

She had spent the whole day shopping with Sarah Cameron, her Kook best friend and now she was going to go fishing, with her Pogues best friends.

Correction, she was going to hang out with Kie while guys fished.

Blake was stuck between the Kooks and the Pogues, she had friends on both sides and could be seen in either side of the island.

"Are you going with that dirty friends of yours from The Cut?" Jack Woods, Blake's older brother asked her appearing in the hall coming out from the living room

"Oh! Go get high with Rafe, I'm sure it's way more entertaining" Blake rolled her eyes at him

Jack Woods was the Kook King, best friend of Rafe Cameron and Topper Thornton, the death squad. He was a jerk most of the time and hated with all his heart the Pogues, but he also loved his sister.

"Beats hanging out in a boat that's about to sink" He said right when Blake crossed the door heading to the backyard, she turned around and showed him her middle finger making him laugh.

Blake walked to the dock in her backyard with nothing but a red bikini, her sunglasses, JJ's Nirvana shirt that he left one time at her house and beers for all her friends in her hands.

Blake was Kook, that's for sure. Her family owned Woods Industries, the biggest company in the state, so that made her pretty rich.

But she was also a Pogue by heart, she loved her friends, they were the kind of people that always wanted to have fun and she was one of them.

Blake met JJ at the beach when she was six, they both loved the water and spent their whole childhoods surfing or swimming. JJ introduced her to John B and the group was born. Blake then met Kiara at Kook Academy in third grade and the two became inseparable, so much she also introduced her to John B and JJ. The following year she met Pope, a smart kid JJ had somehow convinced to help him cheat on a test. Since then, they never left each others side.

"There she is! The traitor!" Blake heard JJ yell as they got close to her in the HSM Pogue.

That day, The Pogues had tried to convince her to hang out with them and go fishing but she had already left with Sarah when they did.

"You all love me still" she said

"Of course we do" John B smiled at her as JJ gave her his hand so she could hop into the boat

"So, I heard you almost gave Gary a heart attack this morning" Blake told them while sitting down next to Kie

Woods Industries managed the real estate company in charge of the new construction in Figure Eight and The Pogues loved breaking into those houses to hang out until Gary sees them and chases them out of the island, he never catches them tough.

"He was early today" John b commented laughing

Blake passed the beers to all her friends and put some music with her phone in the speakers Kie always brought.

"Hey! I've been looking for that shirt" JJ said when he noticed Blake wearing his shirt

"You left it at my house like months ago, I doubt you missed it" Blake rolled her eyes as she walked closer to the blonde

"No, but now I want it back" He said grabbing Blake by the waist

"Do you want the shirt or just see me taking it off?" Blake teased him slapping his hand from her waist

"Actually...both" he replied

"Well, that's not happening today" Blake smirked as she pushed JJ out of the boat and straight into the water.

"I hate you!" JJ exclaimed when came back up on the boat

"I hope so" Blake threw him a kiss smirking and joined Kie, who was dancing with Pope

Blake danced with Kie ignoring the looks John B and JJ gave them.

"You would make such beautiful babies" Kie whispered so one her girl best friend heard

"They will be pretty indeed, if they inherit their mom's looks" she replied making Kie laugh

And that was Blake's life, just having fun with her friends, surfing, tanning.

Life was always good in the Outer Banks.
