"I feel like we could've done at least SOMETHING!" Clarisse yelled at her husband.
They had called 911 and waited for an ambulance to come, then followed the ambulance against Dave's will because Clarisse felt responsible for the man's death. The police had asked a few questions about what happened, and they answered the questions. The couple had been told that the victim's name had been Terry Grey, a 38 year-old man from Topeka, Kansas. He had been on a vacation for business with his girlfriend, Ellen. She was at the hospital, weeping beside the bed. Speaking between sobs, she tried to talk to Dave and Clarisse, but all that came out was gibberish. The couple just stood there, feeling very sympathetic for her.
