SAMS POV
It hurts so much that the girl I love doesn't feel the same about me. I just want her to be happy and have what's best for her. I know that Jack can give her that and I can't, but it still stings to know that I never even had a chance.
We sit in silence for a few minutes, her head still leaning into my chest. I wish it could always be this way. I wish she could be mine.
"Sammy it's getting dark." Izzy speaks up. I know she's afraid of the dark and that's just one of the many adorable things about her.
"Wanna go home?" I offer. She nods her head up and down, without moving from her position.
I don't want this moment to end. It feels so good to have her this close to me.
"Well we better get moving." She stands up and holds out her hand for me to grab.
"Wanna go out for supper instead?" She asks, surprising me with her offer. I thought she wouldn't want to hang out anymore now that she knows how I feel.
"Uh, sure. Where do you want to go?"
"Chipotle?" She asks. I can't help but laugh at her obsession with Chipotle.
"Sure." Izzy smiles childishly and pokes my arm.
"Tag! You're it!" She yells and runs down the path. I roll my eyes and run after her, trying my best not to trip over anything.
When I finally make it to the car I find her sitting cross-legged on the hood, smiling like an idiot.
"What took you so long?" Izzy teases.
"Get off me car! Broom broom!" I laugh and walk passed her, towards the drivers side.
"Awww..." She whines and gets into the car when I unlock it.
We talk about making a collab sometime in the near future until we get to Chipotle. We both order the same thing as usual, and sit down.
"We definitely need to do the what's in my mouth challenge." Izzy giggles and takes a bite of her burrito.
"Yes!" I agree. I'm so glad things aren't awkward between us. "Prepare your mouth to have some weird shit in it."
"Sam!" She reaches across the table and playfully slaps my arm. She's so cute. "Let's keep things rated PG."
"How about PG-13 if you're feeling scandalous?"
"Oh my god Sam." She laughs and I do as well. I toss our trash when we finish and lead her outside.
"Are you ready to go home now?" I ask her as we get into the car. She nods and fastens her seatbelt.
"Let's do this again sometime." Izzy smiles and changes the radio station.
"Kk girl." I reply and change it back. She scowls at me, leading into a fight for which channel to listen to that lasts the entire ride.
"You win this battle, but I will win the war!" She exclaims before giving me a hug and getting out of the car. I watch to make sure she gets inside before driving away.
I can't believe that I finally told Izzy how I feel about her. I don't know if I regret telling her or not, but she didn't seem to be offended or anything so I assume that everything will be fine. I can't help the smile that takes over my face as I think about her asking to hang out again.
Maybe if I told her earlier I might've stood more of a chance.
IZZYS POV
"JACK, JUST GIVE US THE FUCKING REMOTE!!" I hear Rebecca scream as soon as I step inside. It's never boring in this house. Never quiet either.
