(Jeremiah in the MM)

Three months later...

Omniscient

Dave sat in his car watching as Omar left out of Tanya's house. He wanted to hop out and air that bitch out but he knew he had no reason to. He was the cause of all this. Omar pulled out of the driveway and Dave took that as his opportunity to get out.

Tanya was standing on the porch and hadn't made it back inside yet. Once she saw Dave, she immediately rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. Dave walked up to her and placed his hands in his pockets staring down at her.

"The kids aren't here." She said.

"I know." He mumbled.

"How?"

"You still follow the rules even though you don't have to."

"Somebody has to."

Dave tucked his lip in and sighed. He felt bad.

"Tanya, I'm really sorry. I don't know what happened to me. I fucked up on some serious shit."

Tanya looked in his eyes and saw the sincerity. Despite her better judgement, she took his hand in hers. It had been a long while since she actually touched him.

"Wanna come in?" She asked.

Dave nodded. He watched as Tanya waddled inside the house and mentally chuckled. He closed the door and locked it before taking a seat next to Tanya.

"Nice place." He said, looking around.

"Thank you."

Dave stared at her stomach intensely. Tanya noticed and placed his hand on her now 7 month, protruding belly. They both smiled as Dave felt his baby girl kicking for the first time. Tanya quickly looked up as she became emotional.

"Uh, your mans gone be cool with me being here?"

"Who? Omar? Oh, we're not together."

"No?"

Tanya shook her head. "I have too much going on for a relationship."

Dave nodded, placing his hand back on his leg. The two sat awkwardly just staring into space. Tanya turned on the tv and laughed once she noticed The Brothers was on.

"Remember the first time you drug me to your house?" She said.

"Yeah, you were like 'LEAVE IT!' Sitting on the floor and shit."

Tanya looked over at Dave and he looked back. The two began to reminisce on their first interactions. Tanya laid her head on Dave's chest and he just rubbed her arm.

"I miss you." She absentmindedly mumbled.

"I miss you too."

"What about Dawn?"

"I cut her off." He said causing Tanya's eyebrows to raise. "We were never actually together and all she did was take me down the wrong path."

"Really? You don't say?" Tanya said sarcastically.

Dave chuckled and pinched her. "Yeah, it took for me to lose my kids and get my ass beat by my mama to see that. Imma get my shit together, though. Not gone have a choice."

"I don't want you to miss out on your kids' lives." Tanya sniffled.

"I know, but I gotta face the consequences."

Tanya looked up at Dave and he stared into her eyes. She leaned up and pressed her lips against his. Dave was too shocked to kiss her back. Tanya caught on and pulled away. Dave grabbed her by her throat and crashed his lips into hers. He pulled away and the two just stared at each other. Tanya climbed onto Dave's lap and wrapped her arms around his neck just taking in the smell of the cologne that she loved so much. Dave rubbed her back while staring at the wall.

"I'ma fix this. Fix us." He thought to himself.

Tanya was thinking the same thing.

Meanwhile, Dawn sat on the floor of her room with her head thrown back on her bed. On the floor next to her was a book with cocaine residue from the three line she snorted. She had been using more drugs ever since Dave broke things off. Her sadness had turned into anger over time as she knew he was going right back to Tanya. She was so out of it that she had even noticed that her best friend had entered the room.

"Dawn, the hell is wrong with you?"

"Dave broke up with me. He going back to his baby mama."

"How long ago was this?"

"Two months."

"Yet you still look a fucking mess."

"I always came last. To Tanya, his kids, his friends, you name it. I'm sick of it."

"That's it! Since you're clearly gonna stay in the damn sunken place. I'm handling this shit today!"

"What are you gonna do?"

"Don't worry about it."

Kianna

The next day...

"Come on, Kianna. We don't have all day."

I huffed and pulled my-well Rashad's- shirt down. Grabbing all my stuff, I walked downstairs. I had a doctors appointment today and after that, we were going to meet Jeremiah for lunch. After that conversation with my mom, I called Jeremiah and we got the DNA test done. Just as my mom said and he suspected, I was indeed his daughter. Since then, we started spending time together to make up for the missed daddy-daughter relationship.

"You don't have to yell, Shad." I mumbled.

"What took you so long anyway?" He asked as we walked out the house.

"I was staring at my belly."

I slid into the car and closed the door. Rashad did the same, turning the car on. He backed out the driveway and placed one hand on my stomach as he drove. The same day I met Jeremiah, I found out I was pregnant. Nobody knew except me and Rashad. I hadn't even told Tanya yet.

"My baby girl having my baby girl." He said, smiling.

"Umm, no. Your baby girl is having your baby boy."

He sucked his teeth. "It's a girl."

"Well, I guess we'll find out today."

"I guess we will."

——————————

"It's a girl." Dr. Simmons said with a smile.

I sucked my teeth and Rashad started hooping and hollering. Of course, I was happy that my baby was healthy but I wanted my baby boy.

"Ahhhh haaaaa." He yelled in my ear.

"Boy shut up." I said, pouting.

He started dancing around before high-fiving Dr. Simmons. I rolled my eyes and laughed as he finally sat down.

Once we got more ultrasound pictures, we scheduled our next appointment. We got in the car and left as Shad went back to screaming about his baby girl.

"Man, we should've made a bet. Winner gets head."

"You're an idiot." I laughed.

My phone began to ring and I answered it seeing it was Tanya. I slapped Shad's arm to get him to shut the hell up because, again, Tanya didn't know I was having a baby.

"Hey gir-"

"KIANNA THEY TOOK MY BABIES!"
