"Tag! You're it, (Y/N)~!" Ethan shouts as he pokes (Y/N)'s shoulder, he runs off, giggling like a madman, his over-sized bang bouncing as he runs. "Hey! I wasn't even playing!" (Y/N) shouts after Ethan, getting up and chasing after him, giggling as well.

Her mother and Ethan's mom were having a nice chat, talking about the little things in life, like how to get stains out, and even about how (Y/N) and her were moving away soon.

"(Y/N)! Not so rough now!" (Y/N) mother calls to her, seeing as she's pinned Ethan to the ground in a way of tagging him.

"Yes, mama." (Y/N) says getting off of Ethan.

"Hey, (Y/N)! You wanna go see if the wacky ol' professor is giving any Pokemon to someone?" Ethan asks, his voice going a little high-pitched due to it being Western.

(Y/N) giggles a little at the small crack and nods, taking his hand and running with him to the lab.

When the two of them get to the lab, there's a boy there talking to the professor. He has short black hair and a Pikachu on his shoulder.

"Grandpa Elm~!" (Y/N) says excitedly, running into his arms.

"Oof-" Her grandfather stumbles a little and holds her up. "You little rascal, you~"

(Y/N) giggles as she clings to him, motioning to Ethan who was shyly standing in a corner, a bit intimidated by the new boy.

"Ah. Ethan, (Y/N), this is Ash Ketchum. He comes all the way from the Kanto region. He's here on his Pokemon journey to be the very best." Her grandfather explains.

"He doesn't look like he's gonna be the very best-" Ethan grumbles, feeling upset on the inside about the way (Y/N) was gawking at Ash.

"Don't mind him, Ash, he's sensitive to being the 'best' around town." Elm says, sighing a little.

Ethan's P.O.V

Why am I feeling this way? That glint (Y/N) has in her eye as she stares at that boy... It's bothering me... I wish she'd stare at me like that, maybe I need to get buff like some of the other boys I see around.

Oh.

Who am I kidding? I'm gonna be scrawny forever...

"Ethan, why don't you and (Y/N) go check on the Pokemon?" Professor Elm asks, setting (Y/N) down, I blush lightly as I accidentally am able to see up her skirt.

"Yes, sir." I say, grabbing her hand, probably a little tighter than I should have.

"What's with all the force?..." (Y/N) asks, trying to squirm her hand away.

"S-sorry..." I look away, this friendship was starting to feel a little awkward.
