"I promise I'll be back as soon as I can," Sam said, trying to soothe my nerves as much as he could. It wasn't working.
"You're the one who said he needs to be watched constantly," I hissed, hoping to God (or whoever) that Dean wouldn't hear me. Sam only looked at me with those big brown puppy dog eyes, and I sighed. These Winchesters were starting to work my nerves.
"Fine. Go. Just PLEASE hurry back! He might be on his best behavior now, but he's a demon, Sam. I can't just trust him not to...to...to do something," I said. He nodded, but still had that sad dog look about him.
"Castiel will be here. He knows how to-"
"Handle him, yeah yeah, I know. Go Sam. I'll be OK," I said a little more gently. He still looked concerned, but nodded and threw his backpack over his shoulder. Another hunt. Sam didn't want to go, but being a hunter as great as he was...well, he had no choice.
"We'll be fine, Nicole," a voice suddenly said behind me, making me jump out of my skin.
"Oh my God, Cas! What have I told you about that??" I cried, my heart now pounding rapidly.
"My apologies." He stood there, staring at me intensely with those ice blue eyes, and I could feel the blood rushing to my face. "But we WILL be fine, Nicole. I sense no...malice from Dean at the present and think we should not have anything to worry about. Besides...I will protect you if need be." Again, my face flushed a deep red. I didn't know why. Castiel just did that to me.
"Oh...well, OK then. Thank you Cas. I guess that means it would be all right for me to shower then. Seeing as you are my protector," I teased. And to my surprise, his face became red. Huh, I thought, I didn't know angels could blush.
"Yes...yes, of course. Whatever you wish." He now couldn't look me in the eyes, which I found absolutely adorable. He was like a baby in a trench coat, I thought as I walked past him. But I would never say that to him. I liked him too much to hurt his feelings like that. Out in the hallway I was about to enter the bathroom when Dean's bedroom door opened and he stepped out. I could feel my body tense up and my blood run cold as his eyes met mine. Still bright green...for now.
"Hey there, sexy lady," he purred, a smirk plastered to his face. Once again I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks and I hated myself for it. Who in their right mind would be attracted to a damn demon??
"Hey," I muttered before rushing into the bathroom and locking the door behind me. I could him chuckle as he moved farther down the hallway and I sighed. Sam better return home soon.
I pulled back the shower curtain, turning both the hot and cold faucets on to adjust the temperature, which for me meant 85% hot and %15 cold. As the water ran I stripped out of my clothes, then quickly checked to make sure there was a clean towel on the rack. I could think of nothing worse at that point then having to go back out into the hallway just to get a towel as Dean was roaming around. My whole body shuddered at the thought as I stepped under the stream of water.
About thirty minutes later I emerged from the shower, my body dripping wet onto the tile floor. I wiped the steam off of the mirror as I also wrapped a huge, fluffy towel around me. Opening the door, I quickly peeked my head out and, seeing that the hallway was empty, I ran to my room. Pushing open my bedroom door, I'm in for the shock of my life: sitting on my bed was both Castiel and Dean. Great.
"Umm...guys? A little privacy please?" I muttered, walking over to where my dresser was and opening the top drawer to pull out a pair of panties and a long T-shirt to sleep in, but before I could reach in I was spun around by a very firm grip...Dean's. He grabs me by my waist and pulls me up against him, my eyed wide and afraid.
