Megan stared out the window. Watching buildings pass as her and her father drove into San Francisco. The dark haired girl closed her eyes and hit her head on the window lightly.
"Come on Sweetheart, this move is only going to make things better."
Megan opened her eyes and looked over at her father, giving him a slight glare. "You mean, better for you. We're only moving because of your job." She snapped slightly.
Her father sighed and didn't say anything back to Megan. They didn't really have the best relationship. They fought most of the time and never agreed. Some days were good, and others were bad. Like today.
Megan let her light blue eyes wander out the window again. She couldn't believe she had to move, in the middle of the school year. She hated it. She hated it so much she could jump off a bridge. Not really though.
It seemed after her mother died, her father changed. He wasn't as happy or sweet as he use to be. Her mothers death was also hard on Megan since she was left to grow up with out that motherly figure in her life. That death, changed her whole life. Even her mental state.
Her friends back home started to ignore her after she become almost emotionless. Megan shook her head a little bit, making her forget the thought. She just couldn't wait to get "home" and finally be by herself.

They soon arrived at their new home. It looked small on the outside but it had to be big on the inside. It was tall, a nice white color. It was nice.
The moving truck was already parked in front, bringing stuff inside.
Once her father was parked, Megan grabbed her bag and got out. She sighed and flipped her hair out of her face, going inside.
It was nice, like she thought. She started to look around downstairs before heading upstairs. She claimed her bedroom at first sight. She smiled a little.
"I guess moving isn't going to be that bad...this bedroom is big."
She placed her bag on the ground and looked out the window. She was going to start school tomorrow. Her stomach turned and she felt sick. The thought of having to meet people she has never met before made her chest hurt. She dreaded going to school here. Change was never easy for her.
"Megan! Help unpack!" Her father called from downstairs. The sick feeling went away as her thought bubble was popped. She sighed and went downstairs, going to help unpack.

Dinner soon rolled around but Megan didn't eat. She was up in her room, putting things in places that seemed right. Putting posters on the walls. She smiled. At this moment, she wasn't thinking about her other home or the thoughts that would slowly eat at her.
She soon finished unpacking most of her things before sneaking off downstairs and outside. She wanted to walk around the block, just to see.
She stuck her hands into her pants pockets as she walked along the sidewalk. It was getting dark already, it was early spring after all. The air a bit cold too. A small chill went up her spine form the cold, which was easily ignored.
Megan looked around. It was quiet. She liked that. She began to think about if her day at school was going to be okay. Her thoughts soon disappeared when seeing two girls coming towards her.
She bit her lip and her eyes went straight to the ground, waiting for them to pass her. When they passed, Megan heard the faint conversation about boys. She smiled, thinking about how nice it might be to have such a friend to talk about buys with. Sadly she had never had that before. She let out a soft sigh before turning around to go back home.
Megan saw only one of the girls this time. Her eyes went down again.
"Hey," the girl greeted her, "I've never seen you around here before!" She beamed.
Megan slowly looked up, putting a small smile on her face. "Y-yeah, I just moved here.." she stuttered, embarrassed at the sudden conversation.
"Oh? That's cool! On this block?"
Megan nodded, "yeah."
"Maybe we can hang out sometime! I'm DJ!" The girl held out her hand.
The dark hair girl slowly reached out and shook DJs hand. "Megan."
