I woke up with a start. My phones alarm was blaring "Addicted" by Saving Able, and I groaned in response. Grabbing my phone I shut off the sound, and layed still for a moment. I did not want to go to school. Too many people; too many things to deal with."Ali are you awake honey?" My mom called from outside my door.
"Unfortunately." I responded with dread in my voice.
"Come on honey get up. You have candlelight today." At those words I shot out of bed.
"I almost forgot!" I ran to the door and threw it open. My mom was still standing their as I pushed past her to run to the bathroom and prepare.
"Don't forget to bring extra clothes, and your disney bag! You're staying in the park today!" My mom yelled after me. I jumped into the shower to try and freshen up. I grabbed my towel off of its rack quickly wrapping it around me. Running into my room, I threw on my underwear, and ran around trying to find my uniform. Black pants... In the corner. Plain white top... Hanging in the closet. Black socks are in the dresser. Black shoes are under my bed... Or not.
"Mom have you seen my Candlelight shoes!?" I yelled.
"Did you check under your bed?" She responded with a sigh.
"Yes, and they aren't their." I came out of my room beginning to search the entire house.
"Ali..." I heard my mom say. I ignored her, and continued searching.
"I cannot lose these. Mrs. Jenkins will kill me." I spoke to myself.
"Ali..." My mother said again.
"They're my only pair, and I am not using heels." I continued to myself.
"Ali!!" My mother yelled.
"What mom!?" I yelled back.
"Look by the front door."
"I checked already mom, but fine I'll look again." I walked over and sure enough, their they were.
"How do you do it?" I asked walking back to my mom.
"Do what honey?"
"Whenever I lose something you suggest a place it could be, and suddenly it shows up."
"Maybe I'm just magic like the fairy godmother." She said with a laugh.
"Haha mom. I need to finish getting ready." I went back into my room to gather up all of my belongings. I did my hair in a braid resembling Elsa in a way. My makeup was simple; just some eyeliner, mascara, and a coat of lip gloss. I threw on my shoes, and grabbed my disney bag checking to make sure I had everything. Everything I needed was in my bag including a different shirt for park exploring. I exited my room ready for the day.
"Honey I put twenty on your card for dinner. Who's the guest narrator for tonight?" My mom questioned.
"Neil Patrick Harris! We've had him every year since freshman year, but this is the first time he's a 5 o'clock. Do you know what this means?"
"He comes in to greet everyone right?"
"Yes!" I practically screamed. "And I will be front row for him, and he will notice me. Perks of being short!"
