The 2 weeks given to prepare the students of UA were up. The annual sports festival keeping the class of 1-A on edge as the undercover villain sat next to Kaminari in the waiting room, her nerves practically nonexistent. Meaningless conversations were taking place to pass the time, or to distract some from the stress of the event. Something about how their hero costumes were not allowed in order to even the playing field arising, causing the girl to think about what hers would look like, she'd need to go over that with the teachers as well as her hero name.
Pushing those thoughts away for now her attention was grabbed by Iida. He claimed we would be starting soon, "Man, I'm nervous!" Kaminari exclaimed beside her, "Me too! I'd hate to mess up out there!" She agreed, as the blonde started some pointless conversation between them. Bakugou, who was sitting beside Kaminari, kept silent as the girl felt him staring. His gaze reminding her of their conversation a week ago, they haven't spoken since and she preferred that as what he thought of her choices was none of her business. She also didn't care to be concerned about it anyways.
"What is it, Todoroki?" Midoryia's distressed tone caught the girls attention, it seemed he was practically shaking from nerves alone. "On an objective basis, I'm think I'm above you in terms of practical strength," Todoroki answered, Y/n quirked a brow at this, did Todoroki see Midoryia as a strong opponent? She made a mental note to watch out for the both of them.
"Wha?! Ah, uh, yeah..." he timidly agreed, at this the girl bit her lip to try and stop herself from laughing. "You've managed to get All Mights eyes on you right? I feel no need to pry into that, but... I'm going to beat you," the air in the room turned stiff, the girl recalled how similar the boys quirk felt next to All Mights and realized the half and half boy had a point. Shigaraki had theorized that Midoryia could be All Mights successor, but she never put much thought into it until now. Connecting the dots, the possibility of that actually being correct felt so obvious now.
Kirishima attempted to stop Todoroki but was cut off by the male as he continued, "I'm not here to play nice and make friends," he spoke, his voice stern but in a completely different way compared to someone like Iida. He made the room tense, and almost aggressive.
"I-I have no idea what you want from me, telling me all that... you're definitely stronger than me, I think the vast majority of people are probably no match for you..." the freckled teen said, "c'mon Midoryia don't be so negative," Kirishima again tried to reassure him. "Even so!! Everyone, even people from the other departments, they're aiming for the top with all their might! So not even I... can just let myself lag behind the rest! So I'm going to go for it with all my might, too!" He finished, the girl unknowingly clicked her tongue after the interaction, not sure how to feel. It seems the ash blonde was also affected as he quietly grumbled under his breath.
"THE UA SPORTS FESTIVAL!!" Present Mic's voice echoed through the speakers and broke the awkward silence. Everyone collected themselves and headed toward the exit, the girl didn't miss the much fiercer look in Midoryia's eyes compared to a few moments ago.
