Disclaimer: I do not own fairy tail or any of its characters. I only own my OC, Aylin.

Aylin sat in the corner of the Fairy Tail guild hall, trying to keep out of the chaos. The last time she had joined, she had lost her scarf and had spent a half an hour in a closet until Mirajane had found it.

She couldn't go anywhere without her scarf. It stayed wrapped around her eyes at all times. Many of the guild members questioned how she could see through the black fabric and she liked to joke that she couldn't. That was a lie. It would be stupid to go on jobs without being able to see.

The scarf was enchanted so that it could only be seen through on one side. Aylin could see just as well as everybody else. Maybe even better in some cases.

Things were surprisingly quiet for Fairy Tail. It was probably because Natsu was on a job. Things tended to calm down without the dragon slayer starting fights left and right. Sometimes it was nice to have the peace, but right now the quiet felt empty.

"You plan on sulking there all day?" Gray asked, distracting Aylin from her thoughts. She looked up at the ice mage.

"I'm not sulking. I'm just wondering when Natsu will be back."

"You miss that hot head? You hardly talk to him."

"I don't know," Aylin shrugged, "things just feel too quiet without him here. I heard he is out searching for Igneel again?"

"Yeah, he went to Hargeon on a lead."

"Hargeon?" Aylin asked, alarm tracing her voice.

"Yeah, what's wrong with Hargeon?"

"Noth--"

The doors of the guild hall slammed open. A familiar head of pink hair stood there with his flying blue cat.

"We are back!" Natsu yelled and Happy repeated, but Aylin payed more attention to someone standing behind him. A women with blonde hair and big brown eyes walked through the door in awe. Aylin recognized her immediately. This was were it all began. If she was here now, nothing would ever be the same again.

She didn't pay much attention to Natsu throwing a mage across the guild, she only stood up to walk over to the woman. Gray walked with her. Most of his clothes had already started to join the floor as he went to fight.

"Gray, your clothes!" Cana called, but Gray didn't really care. He joined the fight anyway. She watched Elfman drag Loke into the fight, just before she got to the blonde who was now talking with Mirajane.

"Get down," Aylin told them as she yanked them to the floor. Elfman flew into the space where Mira had previously occupied and Aylin ushered them behind a counter to shelter them from the chaos.

"Thank you, Aylin," Mirajane said with a smile.

"Yeah! Thank you! We would have been squished."

"Aylin, this is Lucy, she is here to join the guild," Mirajane introduced as a man flew over the counter and hit the far wall.

"Welcome to the guild. I'm Aylin."

"Thank you, I'm glad that at least one of you seems sane around here," Lucy confessed as she looked around at the fighting all around her.

"What is going on here?" Most people stopped fighting to gaze up at the giant form of Master Makarov, but Natsu kept at it. Aylin watched as the Master crushed Natsu under his foot to get him to stop.

After he looked over and spotted Lucy, he released his magic and shrank back into his normal height.

"I'm Fairy tail's guild master Makarov. What is your name child?" he asked her.

"I'm Lucy and I am here to join Fairy Tail."

"Of course Lucy, it's nice to meet you. Welcome to Fairy Tail! Just go to Mirajane to get your official guild stamp. I will fill out the paperwork later. Now," Master called jumping back onto the second floor banister and holding up a few papers, "we have been getting angry reports from the council about destruction and damages we have caused. But, we shouldn't be afraid of their watchful eyes."

Master set the documents on fire and threw them to Natsu who ate them and Aylin rolled her eyes at the cheers around her. Getting on authorities bad side probably wasn't the best idea, but the guild had been doing it for years and Aylin could do nothing to stop it. She turned back to Mira and Lucy.

"Mira, why don't we go get Lucy her guild stamp?" Aylin suggested.

"That's a great idea! Just follow me, Lucy." Aylin watched Mira lead Lucy away and let out a sigh of relief. Just one more person she would have to get used to. One more person who could find out her secret. She would have to be even more careful from now on.

She watched Lucy skip up to Natsu and Happy, proudly displaying the familiar guild mark in pink on her hand. Lucy would be the first member of team Natsu. It didn't exist yet, but it would. It would change the world as they knew it. The most powerful team in all of history.

She watched Natsu run to look for Macao and how Mira explained something to Lucy. She watched Lucy run out after Natsu, her brown eyes shinning with confidence. Aylin felt tears fall from her own eyes. Luckily her scarf soaked them up before they became visible to anyone else.

She weaved her way through people to get to one of the guilds many closets, slipping inside before anyone could notice where she had gone. Aylin sat down with her knees to her chest and let herself cry harder. No one would notice she was gone for a while and no one would hear her sobs over the guilds endless noise.
