This is how I imagined Dimitri finding out about Claude's birthname; Khalid.

Claude sat on his dorm room bed, glazing his fingers over an old and torn family portrait he treasured. On the back, in very messily written Ink, it read "Tiana + Khalid", with a smudged heart at the end. He flipped it back over, his eyes fixated on his Mother. She sure was gorgeous. Of course, that was to be expected of Fodlàns. He put that picture down very careful, as though it would break at the slightest touch, and picked up another. His Father, the King of Almyra. He missed him. So very dearly. As much as he understood why his Almyran blood was such an awful concept to most, he desperately wished for better days.

He could almost hear her sweet voice. Calling him from his activites, for dinner, or even just plain talking to him. It was no surprise he missed hearing his name, as much as he's grown accustomed to the sound of 'Claude'. Khalid will always have that loving ring to him.

He remembers the story his Father told him. It was year 961, when Almyra had a war with Fodlán, ambushing the Leicester alliance. House Gonerill was in charge of taming that war, and thanks to Faerghus, Fodlán came out on top. Since then An Almyran seen in Fodlán or vice versa, was seen as a crime.

He found it a little humourous. His best friend, being a daughter of House Gonerill. From  what he knows about Hilda, and what he has seen from her, the Houses' name doesn't shake him that well. Gonerill, helping fight in a long war? yet the heiress was a lazy girl, who wanted nothing more than to do, well...nothing Along with his lover...Dimitri. Soon to be king of Faerghus, more specifically Enbarr. Their love was (rumoured) to be unbreakable. He feared that once he had found out the truth, Dimitri would leave him to rot. Anyone that was expected to hate him, respected, cherished, and even loved him. But he could never tell them who and what he really was without feeling absolutely positive and sure about a boosting outcome.

He remembered having to change his name, run from home and never look back, for his own safety. He remembered his Mothers teary eyes as he left. His least favourite memory of her, was seeing her upset. Even more so, his burly and musky Father.

It was one of those nights where it hit him a little too hard. "Oh, Mother..." He whispered coarsely to himself, all the while looking up at the dull wooden ceiling. "I miss you so much. And Dad too. I miss our old home...I miss the Riegan family. I wish I could return."

It was silent for a while, until there was a very loud knock on Claude's door. He rushed to grab a random book, sliding the pictures into a random page. He then gave the mysterious vistor the okay to come in.

"I was on duty, and I saw your light on. Can you sleep?" It was Dimitri. With that concerned almost puppy-like face of his. It hurt Claude to choke out a lie.

"Of course, just thinking of new battle tactics. I'm not very tired." He smiled at Dimitri.

Dimitri stepped into the room, and closed the door behind him. Claude was getting off of his bed, and accidentally kicked the picture-hiding book off of the bed, sending them drifting through the air. He was about to grab them, but Dimitri's reflexes were far too quick. Claude almost felt his heart leap out of his throat once Dimitri had the picture of his Mother between his fingers.

"What a peculiar bookmark.." Dimitri spoke, examining it. Claude went to grab it from Dimitri's armoured hand, but it was too late.

"Tiana and Khalid? Is this your brother? Goddess, he looks almost identical to you!!" The blonde gushed. Claude fixed himself up, with a huff.

"Yeah...My brother." The dark brunette itched at the left side of his jaw, praying to Sothis he could slip it by.

"Wait..." Dimitri brought the picture closer to his face, while his free hand rested on his hip. "I recall you calling yourself an only-child. Why was this a secret?" His head tilted. The jade eyed boy almost felt guilty.

"I don't have any memory of that!! Can I have it back please, it was a bookmark–" Claude reached out, and Dimitri held it back.

"Claude..." He couldn't lie to him anymore. Seeing the curious glint in his lovers eyes was too good to keep it up.

"....That's me." Claude whispered, defeated. He sat back down on his bed, hanging his messy-tousled head down.

"But it says Khalid."

"I had to change my name before stepping foot into Fodlán, or I would have been killed as a child. I'm a halfbred. Almyran and Fodlán. My Father is the kind of Almyra, and my mother...is Tiana."

Dimitri was taken aback. He too, knew the stories of Fodlán clashing with the Almyrans, and all about the alliance, House Gonerill, not to mention Faerghus. He sat down beside Claude, their thighs just about touching.

"I understand how it must feel, having all that unimaginable weight rested upon your shoulders..." The blonde whispered. "But know that it does not affect how I feel about you. I love you so much my Dearest."

Claude sat still, before letting his tired head fall onto Dimitri's metal shoulder. He sighed in relief, and even let a smile pull at the corners of his mouth.

"Thank you, Dima. Words cannot express how much I ached to hear those words."

Dimitri placed a small, yet loving kiss onto the shorter male's tanned forehead, then leaned his head on his lovers. "Would you still like me to say Claude in private?"

The dark brunette buried his face in Dimitri's soft, untouchable, pale skin. "Please do. I'm not ready to hear my birthname from anyone besides my Family.

"Anything for you, my love."
