Sabito awoke from the a sudden shake from the room he had been placed in. He shot up from the comfort of the bedsheets, looking around the luxurious room in an attempt to find the culprit of the sudden shake of the room.
He managed to pull himself out of the bed and headed towards the large window, his mind having forgotten about the horrors that lay outside it. He went to pull the drapes back before his brain remembered what he had seen the day before.. An empty void with nothing else in sight but nothingness.
He hesitated, his pale hand resting on the fabric of the drapes, swallowing nervously as he tried to build up the courage to gaze back out into the empty void.
It took him about 5 minutes before he pulled the drapes back to see if it was all a nightmare. What greeted him made him jump back and scream his lungs out. He stumbled backwards until his back hit the table, feeling sweat pool around his armpits and run down his back.
❝ W-WhAt the fucK is thAt?? ❞
He yelled out in surprise and fear, staring at the creature that was hovering outside his window. For how long had it been there? It was worse than a demon, it's black, charred skin was decaying, it had three heads, all of them looking like that of an ant, but jaws able to open so wide that it could crush a fully grown humans head with it. One of the heads looked to be dead, it's flexible jaw hanging open as the head was limp. The other two had rot and decay lining their black skin. The horns curling out from their heads had purple flowers that let out toxic fumes into the empty void that surrounded them.
Sabito could feel tears burn behind his eyes as they wandered from the heads of the beast to the body. Part of its ribcage had been pulled out, organs hanging out from it's body. Just the sight of it made the male want to vomit. He found it sickening.. He didn't know what to do.. What if it broke through the window? He had nothing to defend himself with. He wasn't allowed to bring his blade, so what was he supposed to do?
Sabito fell backwards over the table when the beast floated backwards and rammed one of its heads into the tinted window. The sash-like tissue coming from its body following with the motion as if it was engulfed in water. The window however did not crack, it didn't even budge at the sheer force of this demon beast.
The ginger male felt the tears prick against his lower lashes as he stared at the creature continuously ramming its head into the tinted window. He was frozen in fear, not able to do more than take shallow, frightened breaths. He never thought he'd be this scared in his entire life. He had died protecting Giyuu and the rest of the children at the final selection from a demon.. It was scary, yes, but his body moved on its own. He had no control over it back then, just like he had no control over it now.
He sat paralyzed until he felt himself he sucked towards the ceiling of the room. He squeezed his eyes shut as he felt his own body be pulled out of the room. He would have made resistance against it.. But he would do anything to get out of this place with that thing.
When he opened his eyes again he sat on a rather comfortable, plush couch. He gently ran his pale hands over the red fabric of the comfortable couch, swallowing nervously as he looked up at the tall, unnamed man in front of him. The mask he wore was as menacing as ever, along with his height, it made him want to recoil back into a corner and never come back out.
❝ You saw one of them, didn't you? ❞
The man kneeled down in front of Sabito, his cold eyes staring at him from behind the mask.
❝ W-What was that thing..?! It was going to kill me- oh god..! I could have died..! ❞
❝ SABITO. ❞
The man yelled to catch the ghosts attention. Sabito stared at him, his arm raised in a protective stance against the man kneeling in front of him. Such power in his voice, it could probably shake the earth out of orbit if he tried hard enough..
❝ You are already dead, the Wispwalkers aren't dangerous to those who are already dead. It was trapped within this locket. It had gotten in as a youngling many years ago, it is starving to death in there. I send some of my apprentices in there to study the creature up close. It is the only way we can study them, since they disappear as soon as they are killed. ❞
The man explained, standing up and walking toward a shelf with colourful jars lining them. They were all sorted by colour, making them satisfying to look at. The more Sabito looked around the room, the more he realized that there was no escape from this fate. All around him were images and books written about rifts, these.. "wispwalkers".. And even fragments of their horns that they had managed to preserve.
❝ That's so cruel.. ❞
Sabito mumbled in response to him, swallowing nervously.
❝ It isn't crueler than what they did to my children and my wife. Ever since they died, I've been set on a mission to exterminate them all. ❞
He grunted, glaring back at Sabito from where he stood with a vibrant, blue jar in his hand.
❝ O-Oh.. I'm sor- ❞
Sabito was cut off by the annoyed voice of the larger male,
❝ Don't you dare apologize. I don't need fake apologies for my loss. Come on, we have to get you to the molding room. ❞
❝ Molding room..? ❞
❝ Yes. We have to get a mold of your spiritual body to recreate it. We need you alive to hunt these Wispwalkers. ❞
The man huffed, waving Sabito with him.
Sabito stood up and stumbled after the man. His steps were so large, he couldn't keep up with the speed of him, so he settled for half-jogging after him to keep up. He didn't want to get lost in this place.. He was already traumatized enough from having seen a Wispwalker so close to him.
The tall male stopped in front of a Boulder, grabbing onto the side of it and starting to pull it aside. Sabito's eyes widened as he witnessed the strength of the man in front of him as he pulled an enitre boulder aside without any help from either equipment or people.
Behind the giant rock was a room, it had a pool of lush, blue water in it, nests lining the walls with eggs of different sizes and colours inside of them. Sabito swallowed as he was ushered inside by the larger male. He stopped by the side of the pool, his eyes wandering up the side of the stone wall until they reached the place where the ceiling should be. That's when he realized it.. They were inside a volcano.
He stared up at the opening where the ceiling should have been, only being snapped out of his thoughts by the unnamed male commanding him to take off his clothes and get into the water.
❝ A-All of them..? ❞
Sabito asked, nervously.
❝ All of them, I need everything about you mapped onto the surface of the water. ❞
He grunted, pointing at the surface of the pool of water.
Sabito nodded, starting to slowly take off his clothes, his body adjusting to the sudden cold feeling of the inside of the volcano as he stripped down. Once he was entirely naked, he covered his crotch with his hands and went to step into the pool.
