Irene POV
"KingH Legend Is Already Dead And So Is His Career"
That was the article that we see on the screen of the phone
Well... Yeri the one that find them and Wendy translate them for us
Hearing what Wendy translate really making me furious at the one that write it
It was from someone post basically saying that the reason why he was defeated on spring was because his skill is declining due to his age because he was pretty much one of the oldest player in LoL scene at the age of 27 and that his career is already dead the moment he transfer to a new team, and it mention that he was being too busy socializing with his idols friends rather than practicing
It's basically a hate article, someone trying to drag his name down yet again
It looks like what he told me about the difference in our culture and western culture about E-sports is true
I didn't believe him when he said how he was playing in conference room in maybe on 50 - 100 spectators and toxicity and scepticism from the media dragging his name down because they don't understand competitive gaming, because ever since i can remember e-sports have been a big culture in our country, we have support from the media, we have sold out arena and stadium and even the players are like a celebrity here
I even remember seeing the news saying that half of the people on the country even played and support competitive gaming like StarCraft
And to see an article saying that he's already a write off because he missed a regional title is pissing me off
But... It doesn't look like it phased him at all
Watching Jinwoo play during this split is very terrifying, Especially after they went to Taiwan with 4 other Korean teams to play against the other 4 Chinese and Taiwan representatives teams on an event called Rift Rivals, they came back even more terrifying, it's not because his team is losing but quite the opposite, his team is not just winning but they're terrifyingly dominant for the rest of the split, they do lose 5 games but they were very dominant even when they lose, they didn't let their opponents get the win easily
For all the 18 games spread around 9 weeks that they've played they never drop from the top 3 on the standings and by the end of the split the score was tight between the 1st to the 4th position team, but even when Jinwoo team got 3rd place he got awarded the split MVP for all i know this is the first time he got MVP in Korea
Even though me and my members are preparing for our concert, we still watch all of his game on the side during the summer split to show our support, and it was such a race seeing Jinwoo play at the end of the split that it somehow inspire us to prepare harder for our concert
After our dance training we watch Jinwoo in the playoffs, he was up against his former team, the team that have one of the biggest legacy in Korean E-sports, and the one that he play and attain the glory of world champion with during 2015 - 2016
Worried is clearly showing on my faces, because that team is the one that push Jinwoo team to the edge everytime they face each other during spring and summer split, and this team is also the one that defeat Jinwoo team during the spring, His old team SKT T1
"Unnie has it started yet?" I heard Joy voice "no it's just played the opening ceremony" i turn around and see her Seulgi and Yeri with a bunch of snacks and drinks on their hands
"Who is all that snack for?" I asked them, they look at me looking confused "well duh... It's for us to munch on while watching the game" Yeri said
