     3RD PERSONS VIEW

"you did what yesterday?" renjun gaped at the older in shock. mark just told them what he did yesterday and a few jaws dropped, some eyes widened while others froze.

mark laughed at their faces and nudged the boy beside him who happened to be lucas, "look! i froze time." he joked in which lucas agreed on.

a wide smile spread out on his face, mark yet again was able to trick lucas. "woah! cool!" his eyes sparkling with amusement while mark giggled at his innocent brother.

donghyuck snorted, "no he didn't." rolling his eyes, he took a sip from his drink.

"anyways," kun cleared his throat, "what happened at the park then?"

"we played with kids!"

"did you notice something suspicious when you were with her?" jaehyun asked after lightly chewing the piece of meat he ate.

mark frowned, "not at all."

the boys sighed and went back to eating their meals. they've all been trying to find hints and clues about this new possible threat, especially the older ones. after lunch, jaehyun sat by the balcony of his bedroom, peering over the castle courtyard.

he began reminiscing about their past childhood. flashes of memories, he could remember them playing tag in the courtyard. the sound of sweet laughter sent tingles in his ear.

taeyong watched his younger from the back as he was indulging himself in a few poetry books that jaehyun owned. "you seem sad, jaehyun." he uttered, looking down to flip the pages of the pocketbook with his icy fingers.

winter was definitely coming. the icy breeze passing through the open windows every now and then. even nighttime was more colder than usual, it felt like something bad was coming, something they've never wished to even exist.

"i was just discussing things with father at the conference awhile ago..." his younger brother replied softly, eyes now casted on the ring their father gave. "...they said that they've been getting reports."

taeyong tilted his head, "reports? what kind of reports?"

"the eastern tribe... is trying to contact with us."

taeyong froze in his spot. not again. his heartbeat quickened, an uneasy feeling rising up in his body, "what do you mean by that?"

"they attacked one of the districts of heraphany." jaehyun bit his lip, "valfield district."

a light sound was made against the carpet floor of jaehyun's room. taeyong had dropped the pocketbook, eyes widening in shock. "w-what... why– what do they want now?" he babbled, hands reaching up to tug on the loose strands of his hair.

jaehyun's lips were trembling in fright. it was happening. a war was definitely coming.

"they want... jaeyoung..."

"they found out!?" taeyong's voice raised up.

jaehyun stood up from his seat, going back inside his room, slowly closing the balcony door. "calm down—"

"i can't calm down! what if– what if she gets kidnapped!?" taeyong sprung up from his position. "i need to see her."

"taeyong– wait!" jaehyun yelled out, watching the older boy sprint out his room. jaehyun swallowed the thick lump in his throat, staring at the portrait he had in his room.

jaeyoung scrunched her nose, "i'm gonna probably fail another exam." she sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, slowly tying it up in a ponytail as she walked side by side together with miyeon.

miyeon chewed the insides of her cheeks as they entered the small restaurant. they ordered the classic tteok they always get whenever it was the first day of exams, however this time, they decided to get it on their second day.

miyeon gulped down the water fast, placing it down the wooden table with a faint thud.

"are you okay?" jaeyoung's brows knitted together, a frown forming on her lips as she eyed her friend.

something is wrong...

"jaeyoung..." miyeon blinked, hands shaking in fear. after the talk she had with her parents last night, she couldn't even sleep properly or think straight.

"miyeon?" her friend tilts her head, confusion stuck in her mind.

"you're not safe here." she heard her friend whisper lowly. her voice was trembling, as if great danger was right before them.

"what do you—"

the door bursts open, a panting boy walks in, eyes locked onto jaeyoung's.

"taeyong–"

"thank hera you're safe!" the boy yelled and engulfed her into a hug, caressing her hair as she inhaled his scent.

by now, loud whispers broke out, from outside and inside the restaurant. numerous of pairs of eyes laid upon the two hugging figures, shock evident in their faces.

why was a prince hugging a student?

"p-prince taeyong..." miyeon coughed out, scrambling to get her stuff.

"we need to leave. now." taeyong said sternly, a protective arm laced around jaeyoung's shoulder. they headed out the restaurant, facing more confused citizens of heflorescence.

once they've entered the car, taeyong ran his fingers through the messy locks of his hair.

"taeyong what the heck was that?" jaeyoung uttered surprised.

miyeon sat on the passenger seat, her chest heaving ip and down as the adrenaline rushed through her bloods.

a loud gunshot noise was made.

jaeyoung jolted up in her seat, the sound frightening her. hands reached up to cover her ears. she feared gunshot noises.

she didn't know why, but she used to get dreams of people screaming for their life, loud explosions noises filled the dusty air, with her only crying as she held onto her dear life.

taeyon noticed her shaken up figure, drawing her close to him as he placed her head on his chest. "shh, i won't let them hurt you."
