Chapter 5: I Didn't Say It Was Your Fault. I Said I Was Going To Blame You.

Reese repeatedly continue looking over my charts, continuously asking questions. Questions that have absolutely no significance. At least in my own opinion. To Reese, the seemed to be a matter of life and dead. So to her, they were important. So for her I will bare through it.

But it was kind of hard to concentrate on answering anything.

Why?

Jace was on the other side of the room whispering to Zander and Colin. Every few words one of them would turn to me, glancing quickly into my eyes, before turning around. Doing so just as fast as they had looked over in the first place.

Alec, though, he sat next to me on the small hospital bed, our legs dangling over the side. (Well my feet dangled... Alec, his feet laid flat against the floor.)... (Fucking tall ass bastered.)

I glance to him, watching as he stared blankly at the floor, his eyes clouded with worry.

I bump my shoulder against his, like we always used too. I give him a tight smile. One which he returns, but it didn't quite reach his eyes.

"No dizziness what so ever?" Reese asks for the hundredth time.

"Reese! You've asked that at least five times, if not more." I whine, kicking my feet against the sides of the bed, throwing my head back grunting in annoyance.

Reese clicks her pen, a determined look in her eyes. She looks back and forth between me and the chart, and started scribbling god knows what down. She nods satisfied. "Just making sure."

Alec chuckles at my annoyance, even as I turn to him narrowing my eyes at him, he continued to laugh at me.

But his laughter is contagious and I couldn't help smile back at him.

Alec and I were barely ever together anymore. We both had our own lives. We didn't share on together anymore. We both have mate, and are running our own packs.

He had Brena, and his pack to take care of. And Brena alone was too much to handle.

I was busy with Derek, our pack. Oh and of course the constant worrying about the fact that some psycho literally has my life in his hands. Might I add this psycho pretty much wants to kill himself.

JUST TO PISS ME OFF!

It's working.

I glance at him, gesturing toward Jace and the others. "What are they talking about?"

I already knew the answer. But I wanted to hear his name said.

It wouldn't feel real.

It wouldn't feel real until I heard him name.

I needed to hear it.

Alec looks down, his smirk replaced with a deep frown.

Because he knew, I knew.

Everyone knew.

Alec clears his throat, shaking his head. "We don't want you to worry about it."

...?

... I can't help it you know?

I mean seriously!

I had no other choice.
