Anna's P.O.V
"It'll be fun, Anna!"
"Ryan, I'm only just getting settled..." I complain. He's been trying to get me to 'go out and enjoy the city', for the past 2 days. "Come on! I'm going to the club with friends, and they wanna meet you, anyways." He says, still attempting to persuade me to go with him. "Why can't you go with Aaron?" I ask him. "He's working, and I don't just hang out with my boyfriend you know. We're not joined at the hip!" He says dramatically and I laugh. "I know, I just don't want to go... And I don't even have anything to wear." I try and reason. "Bullshit, I took you shopping the other day. Wear the new dress I got you!" Ugh. "Fine, I'll go. But I'm NOT drinking, Ryan. I'm serious about that." I remind him. "I know. See you in like 30 minutes?" He asks. "Sure, bye." I could tell this was going to be an eventful night. I'm not a party-hard type of girl, why can't I just sit in my couch and watch Netflix? I guess I can try and have fun...
I throw on some makeup, straighten my hair, and go to my closet to get the dress and heels. The black dress reaches a little above my knee, and it's form fitting with short sleeves. Just as I'm putting on my heels, I hear a knock on my door. Well I guess Ryan's early. I stand to open the door in my heels and stumble at first, 'Man, I haven't worn these in a while', I think to myself. "Ok, I know I'm not done, but how do I l-" I start talking before I see that it's not Ryan at my door, but my douche of a neighbor..I immediately feel uncomfortable. "Oh, going out tonight, princess?", Michael asks teasingly. "Anna," I correct him, rolling my eyes.
"And it's none of your business, Michael." I've really grown to dislike my new neighbor since my time here.
He's rude, arrogant, cocky, and always teasing me about being a 'princess' or 'goody two-shoes'. I just ignore it, though. I haven't let things like that get to me since high school. It sucks that he's attractive, though. It would be easier to ignore him. "What do you need?" I ask. "I was just warning you that I'm having party tonight so it's gonna get pretty loud. But you're leaving, so it doesn't matter." He shrugs. "Okay," I nod. "You can go now." I say and practically push I'm out of my door. "Oh, and to answer your question," He says, grabbing the door knob. "You look pretty hot." He winks and leaves. I cringe for a second and continue to get ready. Ryan shows up about fifteen minutes later, and we head off to the club.
"Anna, relax. They're gonna love you." Ryan says as he drives, attempting to calm my nerves. "But you know I get really awkward around people I don't know!" I say frantically. "Okay, okay I get it. Just be yourself." He tells me and I try and practice acting normal. We get to the club in about fifteen minutes and I immediately feel out of place. The annoying dance music is incredibly loud, there's drunk people hanging in each other and making a fool out of themselves, and then I see a group of somewhat sober people waving their hands to get our attention. "Okay, that's them." Ryan says over the music. We make our way to the table and people start introducing themselves.
"I'm Jesse." A dyed-blonde girl says, holding out her hand and I shake it. "I'm Darren." A dark-headed guy smiles, a slutty looking red-head hanging in his shoulder. "Hi. Dani." A short-haired girl with dark eye makeup says nicely. "Ella." A girl with bright eyes says. The girl with bright red hair, bitch-face, and her boobs practically falling out of her dress looks at me, "Lucy." She says rudely. "I'm Anna." I say with a smile. Within about ten minutes, everyone is trying to get hammered, well other than me of course, alcohol is something I feel strongly about. "Have one." A tipsy Dani offers me a drink. "No thanks," I tell her. "I don't drink." She gives me an off look. "Why the fuck would you go to a club if you don't drink?" Lucy stumbles her way towards me with her bitch-like face and attitude. "That's stupid." She laughs in my face. "Lucy, lay off." Ryan says seriously. "Shut up, Ryan." She whines at him. "I just thought it'd be nice to meet you all." I say a little quieter , trying to act like I still have any confidence. "Well it certainly wasn't nice to meet you." She spits. "What's your problem, Lucy?" Ella and Jesse say. "My fucking boyfriend keeps checking this slut out! But I guess there really isn't anything good to look at." She says with that same bitchy attitude and any ounce of confidence is gone. "Lucy shut the fuck up, and sit the fuck down!" Ryan yells. "Whatever Fag!" She yells and Ryan rolls his eyes. "Real creative!" He says moving towards me. "We're leaving." He announces and we go. We immediately exit the club and the drive back is silent. "You okay?" He asks. "'Be yourself'? Really Ryan?" I say, my eyes glossing over a little bit. "Anna I'm sorry I didn't know they would do that." He explains. I sigh and try and keep my tears from coming down. "I'll talk to you later, okay?" He says as he pulls up to my apartment. I nod and get out. The tears come out when I'm in the elevator, why can't I just be a normal girl that everyone likes?
I walk down the hallway, my tears still coming down my face. "How was your night, princess?" I hear a teasing voice call. Michael is picking up trash and red solo cups around his room in his usual band t-shirt, black jeans, and snapback. "Not tonight Michael, I'm really not in the mood." I say, my voice breaking a little bit. He usual smirk changes to a frown when he looks at me. He goes to say something, but I walk in my apartment before he can insult me more. I quickly change and take off my makeup and before I lay down for the night
