3rd Person POV
The sky was crystal clear; not a single cloud there. It was just a little girl, her mother, and the beautiful ocean blue sky that grasped the small girl's full attention. The young girl laid in the soft green back lawn just staring up in awe. She felt it call to her as she put her hand up to try and grab the sun, her imagination running wildly as she pictured herself bouncing among the tops of trees and playing with the ball that was the sun, the blue surrounding her as angels watched from the very scarce but growing clouds and smiling down upon the sweet girl. The small girl giggled to herself before stumbling her way up from the ground and making a dash for her mother.
"Mama! Mama!" she yelled as she nearly tripped up the porch and grabbed a fistful of her mother's flowy, floral patterned skirt. The younger aged woman chuckled at the young one's seemingly unending eagerness and energy.
"Yes, sweetheart?" The auburn haired woman tilted her head down at the girl whose eyes shined like jewels as she reached down, firmly putting her hands under her armpits and picking her up and into her lap. The tiny girl giggled and bounced in the woman's lap.
"I wanna play with the sun!" she exclaimed, flinging her arm up towards the sky. The woman smiled a soft yet bright smile, stroking the girl's hair as she grinned up at her with such enthusiasm.
"Okay then. I'll get you the sun, love," she calmly replied, tucking her arm under the legs of her three year old child. This wasn't the first time the small child had asked for the sun. In fact, it was very often that the little one asked for the sun, so the young woman and her husband devised a plan to get the girl the sun. The woman's skirt danced in the wind as she stood from her place in the spruce rocking chair and made her way over to the glass back door. "Darling~," she rings throughout the mostly empty house except for her loving husband who was sitting silently at the dining table with a mug of freshly poured tea watching his family through the large bay windows.
"Yes, honey?" came a not so distant reply.
"Care to help in getting our light the sun?" she caringly asked, fully knowing the answer already.
"Of course, lovely," he replied. Walking over to his beautiful wife, whose sun hat took up most of the space in the doorway, he gave her a sweet peck on her lips before going to retrieve the yellow ball from its hiding place in the couple's closet while she went to retrieve a ladder from the shed in the back. The man made his way out into the front yard and waited for the familiar cue of his wife.
"Are you ready, sweetheart?' The man heard his wife speak from her place on the ladder in a manner that he was able to faintly hear but hear well enough to where he knew his cue. "3," the woman on the opposite side began. "2...1!" On this cue, the younger man threw the ball high enough and far enough over the thinner part of the house, landing in the grass on the other side while the woman pretended to unscrew the sun from the sky and drop it down. She would've caught it if she had proper hand-eye coordination.
"Yay!" the little girl cheered, as she raced for the ball that had rolled across the yard. As the woman carefully climbed down and went to put the ladder back where it belonged, she admired her daughter with loving eyes who was throwing around the ball as a child of her age would. Walking past the young one after closing the shed and locking it back up with the keys she had taken off the small rack inside just earlier, she patted the girl on her head and told her that she would be back and she was just going to fetch something to drink. Confirming that she didn't want anything while she was inside, though the woman would get her something anyway knowing she would change her mind, she made her way to the screen door and went inside, greeting her husband as she did so.
The little girl watched as the two of her parents made their way to the kitchen, she sat down, played with the ball a little bit until it rolled far enough to where she couldn't reach it from her position. Giving up, she fell back with a huff, admiring the trees around her and the clouds hanging above as she always did. Everything was so interesting. Everything was so big. What was especially so big and interesting was the creature she had greeted from afar when she felt the ball roll back and gently hit her leg. Sitting up, she gazed at the tall, faceless being in pure awe. She studied its every feature in the awestruck state, how humanoid it was but definitely not from here, how its suit was so tidy despite it residing in the woods. From her perspective, it was almost as tall as the trees around her. The small one's smile grew, but just as she was about to get up to approach it, her mother entered back into the backyard.
"Doll, come g-" her sentence was interrupted as she looked up. Surprise filled her features. The wind had become stronger. Everything seemed darker. The woman's face settled into a smile as she smelled the air. "Nevermind that. You can have it inside. Let's get in now. I didn't realize it was about to rain. Though it smells lovely, I wouldn't want you to get sick any. Come on, love."
"But I love the rai-n," the girl jumped up just to pout. The woman just chuckled.
"I do, too, but let's get going. I'll let you play in the rain when it dwells down to a drizzle here in a bit, alrighty?"
"Oooh, okay!" Picking up the ball that laid at her feet, Y/N ran inside with her mother gently closing the door behind her and giving her what was prepared as her snack for the afternoon.
