There was a girl who always had a blue ribbon tied around her neck. Everyday she got more and more questions and jeers towards her ribbon. Her best friend, a young boy the same age as her, always asked about the ribbon, but never said anything to insult it.
Seven years later, when they were on a date together, he asked why she always wore the ribbon.
"I might tell you one day when your ready," she replied.
At their wedding nine years later, he asked "Why do you always wear the ribbon?" Her only reply was silence.
After they had lived a happy life together and they were around eighty years old, the man asked one last time.
"Why do you wear the ribbon?"
"We have had a happy life together and I might as well show you," his wife replied. She stood up and tugged lightly at the end of the ribbon. As the ribbon slipped away from her neck, her head rolled off and bounced onto the floor.
