Omega's POV
I walked out of the throne room in a rage. If I had stayed in there any longer, well...
Let's just say it wouldn't be pretty.
Like it used to be, Olympus was still on the 600 floor of the Empire State Building. I quickly changed my clothes into a normal hoodie and black jeans, and climbed onto the elevator.
Nobody looked when I passed by. Nobody saw the son of Chaos. Nobody saw the assassin that kept the universe clear of evil.
I was just a guy.
I walked out of the doors, realizing that it was raining. Pulling my hood up my head, I walked to the nearest park. Near the kids' playground, there was a gazebo.
I quickly ran in, but almost immediately, the rain stopped falling. The sun started to shine over the peak of a gray cloud. A rainbow started to form, something I hadn't seen in years.
People started to crowd back into the park. Little kids chased each other yelling tag. Teenagers walked on the trail, talking to each other. I sat there. Looking at them. Looking at thin air.
And then I heard two voices.
"Linda! Linda! I see a rainbow!"
Somebody laughed. "I see it, too, Haley. You want to go closer?"
"Yes!"
A small little girl appeared, holding a small sippy-cup. Her short brown hair was in pigtails, and her bright, happy brown eyes looked at me.
"Hi," she said softly.
It took a long time for me to process that she was talking to me.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Haley." She seemed to regain her courage. "I'm four years old and my favorite color is pink and I like cookies and rainbows and candy and unicorns!" She smiled a big toothy smile at me. "What's your favorite color?"
"My favorite color is blue."
"Really?" She asked me. She jumped onto the seat next to me. "Do you like cookies?"
I laughed. "I LOVE cookies."
She nodded. She ran towards the swings. "Want to play with me?"
Before I got the chance to answer, a teenage girl ran towards Haley, holding a small teddy-bear. She gasped for breath.
"What are you doing, Haley?" She asked.
"Asking him if he wants to play with me." She pointed her finger at me.
The girl took a quick look at me. "You know you aren't supposed to talk to strangers!" she scolded.
"He is nice."
"That doesn't give you permission to go talk to him." She sighed. "I nearly lost you, Haley. Who knows what your parents might think when I come home, you not with me."
"Sorry, Linda." Haley said softly.
"It's okay. Just don't run from me again." Linda said. Then she smiled. "You forgot your teddy-bear."
Haley grabbed the bear. She ran towards me, showed me the bear, and said, "This is Gram!"
She ran back towards the swings and said, "Push me! Push me!"
Linda smiled and went to her, picking Haley up and making sure Haley was balanced. She pushed Haley lightly, enough for her to say, "Yay, I'm flying!"
A pair of girls, about the same age as Haley, were sitting on the bench playing with dolls. Haley stared at them, her eyes on the dolls, and put up her arms for Linda to pick her up and carry her to them.
