It's was around one in the morning and I was sitting outside in my backyard looking up at the sky as I thought about what's happened this week with Lauren and our kiss. I think I'm starting to fall for her and honestly that scares me. It scares me because I have never felt this way about anyone ever and I'm not sure how to react to these new feelings that I'm feeling.

My phone ringing pulled me from my thoughts and without checking the caller ID I answered it. "Hello." I whispered softly. "Hey D did I wake you up?" Lauren asked gently. "Uh no. No I was already awake." I told her. "What's up Lo?" She sighs "I couldn't sleep so I decided to call you and maybe talk for a while." She explains.

I chuckled "what's on your mind babe?" I asked. "Nothing honestly but I just can't sleep for some reason." She paused for a second. "Like I'll close my eyes but immediately open them back up and just lay here. This has been going on for two hours now." She tells me. "Well what's on your mind when you close your eyes Lauren?" I asked.

"I can see people laughing at me because of what Camila said the other day. I can hear them laughing and saying how pathetic I am and how much of a freak I am." She tells me.

I hummed "I know you're scared of that happening but that's not going to happen. I made a promise to protect you and I intend on keeping it, Lo." I said. "Nobody is going to hurt you." She released a small sigh on the other end. "Why are you so nice to me? I mean you don't have to be but you are. Why?" She asked. "Because I read your diary. I know things nobody else does and it makes me protective over you. I just want the best for you." I told her. I could hear her breath hitch through the phone. "Thank you Dinah." Lauren whispers. I smiled "you're welcome Lauren."

Waking up to the sound of a very loud knock on the door I groaned as I threw the covers off of me and went to go answer the door. Upon opening the door I rolled my eyes when I saw who it was. "What do you want Camila?" I asked tiredly.

She smiles "I came to plan the party with you." She said. "We're still doing that?" I asked. She nodded "yes we are. I mean this is it for us. We graduate in a few weeks so me need to have as much fun before we all leave." She tells me.

I nodded "fine I'll plan it with you but Lauren is coming with us." I said. Camila's face fell as she knotted her eyebrows. "Does she have to? I mean she's probably not even graduating with us so she really has no reason to come." She said bitterly.

I rolled my eyes. "Actually she's ahead in all her work since she did online classes. So she'll be graduating with us." I told her. Stomping her foot like a toddler she huffs as she crossed her arms. "Fine she can come but she will not talk to me." She said. I shrugged "fine."

The moment we picked up Lauren to come help us plan Camila became extremely bitter and cold towards both of us, and I could tell that it bothered Lauren but before I could stop her and tell her to ignore the girl she spoke up.

"Why do you hate me so much? What did I ever do to you?"

Camila glared at me. "Dinah shut your friend up before I hurt her feelings again." She said coldly. I sighed as I looked at Lauren. "Maybe no isn't the time Lo." I spoke softly but it was no use. Lauren shook her head. "No Camila what did I do to you for you to hate me so much? Like what's the reason?" I asked.

Bringing the car to a rough stop Camila turned to the back seat and glared daggers at Lauren that would have the girl six feet under if looks could kill. "I don't like you because your family loves to rub the fact that they have money in all of our faces. They love to show off how rich they are with every chance they got and you're no different." She screams. "You can act like you're this tortured soul who's abused by her family but when it comes down to it you're just like them! You're snobby, stuck up and rude ass bitch that nobody likes because you walk around like you're fucking perfect when in reality you're nothing but a loser."

Lauren bowed her head as she played with her fingers. "I, um, I didn't know you felt that way." She mumbles. Camila huffs "yeah well I couldn't exactly say since we have to be gentle because you're oh so fragile." She bits. Lauren had tears in her eyes but held them back. "Well I'm sorry if I came off that way I truly never meant to." She said. Camila rolled eyes. "Yeah I'm sure you are."
