Hero
The mess, worry and panic in my head calmed down a bit finally. Me and Catarina just arrived home and luckily she is fine, she just can't force herself which I hope she won't do. "How are you?" I ask her smiling as she is sitting on the couch. "I am better" she smiles and I kiss her forehead. Damn, if her smile isn't the most precious thing in the universe then I don't know what it is. "Can I do something for you? You know, so you can do at least something fun for your birthday?" I ask a bit insecure and she gives me a bigger and warmer smile as she shakes her head. I know this day is really fucked up, but I love her so so so much and I wish I could do something so she will be at least a bit happy for her own birthday. "No, you don't have to, you organized me the best party ever and the first two hours of it were the best of my life, you don't have to be insecure about Melanie, I already told you that so please don't be insecure, I am thankful for everything you did for me" she moves some hair from my forehead in the way that always calms me down and I nod my head.
"Thank you, but now unfortunately I have to go to work" I say and she pouts. "Really? Now? "Yes, sorry, but Anna called saying it's something important so I gotta check" I kiss her forehead and walk to the door while she is adorably pouting.
After some time of driving through the really boring traffic I finally get to the building where the magic happens. "Hi" I walk to Anna and the rest of the crew with my hands on my pockets. It's unbelievably weird how my mood changes when I am with Catarina and when I am at work. Catarina is my sunshine, my happiness, my oxygen, the color of my blood, the reason I am alive, she is everything I ever need to survive and I am sure I'll love her endlessly till the very end which I hope won't come soon. "Hi Hero, are you ready to film the last scene?" Anna says and I furrow my eyebrows confused. "The last scene? What are you talking about? What about the rest of the book?" I ask and now she is the one furrowing her eyebrows.
"Hero, we are filming here because these are the London scenes, for the rest of the book we gotta go back to Atlanta, we are leaving in two days." she says and my jaw drops to the floor. Holy shit, I totally forgot I'll have to go back to America. I have no idea how will I leave Catarina here alone, I know she can't come with me because she can't miss college anymore, she already did enough, but I also can't leave her alone with Chad and Melanie, she needs me by her side and anything, not even this movie will make us separate. After some time of thinking I look back at Anna and shake my head. "Sorry, but I can't leave, maybe I'll be able to come at summer" her eyes and mouth open widely in shock. "Summer?? Are you insane?? We need this movie done by the end of the year!!" I shake my head and walk to the door. "No, sorry, but no, I don't know what I'll do, but no, I need time to think, it's summer, take it or find another Hardin Scott" I don't turn around just so I won't see the disappointments on their faces that are obviously there. This is a huge project and I don't want to leave it, but I found my true love for the first time in life and she is now my everything, my priority before everything.
Anna sighs in disappointment and "Alright, I'll think, I am sorry that things needed to be this way" is all I hear before disappearing from the room with the same frustration as on the night I first met Catarina.
