In Your Dreams

Chapter 1

*Macie’s P.O.V*

“It happened again last night, I don’t know why but it changed a bit.”

“Macie, you have to get over it. It’s just a dream.”

“So? My gran used to say all dreams have a meaning. This one must have one then. Just hear me out.”

“Fine. So what was the change?”

I smiled, remembering it so clearly.

“I saw a boy.”

My best friend Vanessa smirked.

“Well, was he cute?”

“More than cute. He was handsome. Bright emerald eyes and raven black hair. I only saw him for ten seconds though, then I woke up. But he was staring at me, intensely... It was so weird.”

“It sounds like you should get a boyfriend." 

“We both know that. But who would date a girl like me?”

Vanessa rolled her eyes.

“You can’t keep saying that. It’s just an excuse. You know it’s not true.”

“But what if it is?”

I looked down at my long, chocolate brown hair. God, I was so boring. If any guy did settle for my small frame and blue eyes, they would practically be dating a rock. 

“If it is, then it’s bullshit. Macie, get your head out of the clouds and find a guy! You should be the one having to settle, not them.”

“Maybe you’re right.” 

She couldn’t have been more wrong.

I can’t tell why I was so drawn to the mystery boy. Something about him was calling my name. But what? Why can’t I just forget his face?

Vanessa’s phone began vibrating.

“It’s a text from my mom, I have to go. My little brother is having another one of his fits.”

“I understand. I’ll call you when I find my husband.”

“Very funny. I’ll text you later tonight.”

She waved goodbye as she exited Starbucks. 

The question was still stuck in my head.

Who was he?

A/N: Hey, so I know this was a REALLY short chapter, but it is a good lead into the story. Don't be put off by it, I promise it'll get good really soon! I don't usually cast characters for my stories because I like having the reader imagine what the characters are like, and it's always a bit more fun. But, I just thought that Adriana Lima and Dylan O'Brien fit the descriptions of Macie and Christian quite well (Minus the boring part about Macie). Just forget that Adriana Lima is kind of old, pretend she's still a teen in this. If you have any idea about who should play Vanessa, let me know in the comments!
