It was a normal winter day and a young girl was staring out her window watching the snow fall gently and covering the ground in a thick blanket of pure white snow. The young girl, named Elaine, wondered what it would be like if there were such a thing as other worlds. Elaine was only 10 but she had a huge imagination a d she would always be thinking about other worlds that would be unexplainable to any other person. Elaine like to imagine, that if there were other worlds out there no-one knew about, what it would be like to travel there. She also wondered that if she did go to another world what she would do afterwards. Would she tell anyone? What would they say? Would they think it was a story she came up with? Would she keep it to herself?

Elaine was brought out of her daydream by her mum yelling her name. "What's the matter mum?" She asked with a confused look on her face. "Nothing. I was just coming to tell you that we can go play outside once the snow settles down a bit" replied the girls mum.

Not long after her mum left, Elaine's older brother (who was only 4 years older) came running into his sisters' room with excitement on his face and his eyes sparkling, showing just how excited the young boy was. "Elaine, mum said we can play out in the snow when it settled down a bit". The boy, named Harley, was practically jumping with excitement and could hardly contain the excitement in his voice when he spoke.

Elaine looked at her brother with a smile on her face. Even though her brother was 14, he was still a bit childish but that's what Elaine liked about Harley. Harley's childishness always made her happy, cheered her up when she was feeling sad and never failed to make her laugh.

"Yes, I know, mum just told me" came the younger siblings reply- with a hint of amusement at her brothers' childlike attitude. Elaine loved playing with her brother and her brother loved playing with her. Elaine could see Harley was trying to keep in his excitement but the sparkle in his eyes gave it away.

After a few minutes passed, Harley left his sister to her imagination. Elaine looked beside her and saw the snow globe her mum had given her. She picked it up and gently shook it. Elaine watched the snow falling mesmerised. She was too mesmerised by the snow falling in the snow globe that she didn't notice the mysterious smoke engulfing her small frame. Once the smoke had completely engulfed Elaine, it vanished inside of the snow globe.

Inside the snow globe was another world filled with mystical creatures, mysterious but weird and wonderful plants and trees. The smoke gently laid Elaine on the ground, which looked like it was made of stone, and it was weirdly soft. Elaine looked around and was awestruck at the mysterious world she was in but at the same time she was a bit confused as to how and why she was there in the first place. "What's wrong child?" An unknown voice spoke and Elaine was even more confused. "Where am I? I want to go home" was the reply Elaine gave and she tried to hide the bit of fear in her voice as she spoke. A small blue light appeared in front of Elaine. "Don't be scared, I'm here to help you get home". Elaine looked at the mysterious blue light in front of her and said "How? How am I going to get home?"
"Just follow me an you will know the answer once we get there"

Elaine (although still confused) stood up and followed the small blue light. However, upon closer inspection, Elaine saw that the small blue light was in fact a small fairy. Could it be that she's a guardian fairy? Elaine thought, and as if the fairy in front of her heard her thoughts replied "Yes, and it's my job to help those who mysteriously find themselves here".

The duo continued on their way, and Elaine looked around at the weird yet wonderful plants and trees along the way and soon enough they found themselves at a small river. Elaine looked at how the water seemed crystal clear. The water was shallow enough for her to walk through.

After crossing the river, the duo continued their journey and after what seemed like hours of walking -or flying- they came across a witch (but not the evil kind, no thus with her is the good kind- like Glenda the good witch from 'The Wizard of Oz'). The witch was a child, probably no older than Elaine, and looked very unhappy.

"What's wrong little one?" The fairy spoke in a gentle voice as not to startle or upset the young witch even more. "I'm lonely. I have no friends as everyone just seems to ignore me"
"Don't cry. How can we help you?"
"I just want someone to play with me and be my friend"
"I'll play with you and be your friend" Elaine said looking at the young witch with a smile on her face. Elaine had a big heart and was the nicest and friendliest person anyone could come across. "My name is Elaine. What's yours?"
"Mikaela"
"Nice to meet you Mikaela"

After introducing themselves Elaine and Mikaela played together and had a lot of fun with the blue fairy watching over them while they played. But all good things must come to an end as it was soon time for Elaine and the blue fairy to continue on their journey to get Elaine home. Instead of going home herself, Mikaela joined them as she didn't want to say bye to her new friend just yet.

The duo, now trio, continued on walking (and flying) and soon they came across a forest. The trio made their way through the forest and after a few minutes they found themselves out of the forest. The blue fairy, Elaine and Mikaela carried on walking for a few more minutes until the came across a giant waterfall. "All you have to do is walk through the waterfall and you'll be back home"
"How is that even possible?"
"This waterfall is actually a portal that can teleport people back to where they came from"
"Wow. I guess that saying 'anything is possible' really is true"
"Yes, and this is where put journey comes to an end"
"Bye Elaine, it was nice to meet you"

With one last glance at the fairy and giving her newly found friend a hug goodbye, Elaine walked through the waterfall and she was back in her room. She was asleep on her bed, facing her snow globe, but the sleep didn't last very long as she woke up to Harley yelling her name. "Harley, what's up?"
"Hurry up, the snow has settled down a bit so we can play outside now". After Harley said that, Elaine practically shot up and ran down the stairs and got ready to go outside but she couldn't help but remember the weird adventure she just had and smiled to herself. Maybe it was just a dream. She thought before joining her mum and brother outside.

Back inside her room, Elaine's snow globe showed a small house with snow covering the ground and roof, and now had small figures that looked like Mikaela and the blue fairy...
