Hold me tightly
Don't let go
Please don't leave
I love you so

Akashi sat at his desk. Homework was such a chore now for him. The depression was weighing down on him; his other self almost taking over. School would end in about a month, and he'd go on to high school. He wanted (F/n) to graduate from Teiko with him, but...would it still be possible? Akashi finally reached a roadblock in life; something he never before had experienced. He found something he couldn't have, not yet at least.

'Come on...you know you can't win without me. You need to win in life. Losers don't get anything. I'll help you. Just think about nothing and let me take over...just free me...'

"No....no.....nononononono. I refuse to rely on you, you damn other self. You'll only cause trouble."

'So you'd rather lose everything and be a loser? Go right ahead, but...remember...I'll always be within you, waiting for you to lose youself. Hehehe.'

Akashi's body started feeling heavy. He furiously rubbed his forehead, in an attempt to get rid of his headache. Only, the rubbing didn't help. It made it worse. (F/n) (F/n) (F/n) (F/n) (F/n). He just wanted her to wake up. Akashi was truly in love with her, but little did he know, she was torn between who she wanted.
(Boy's name) had been so nice to her, and they almost kissed once. But Akashi interrupted. Akashi had been really nice to her, too. Although, he didn't want to force himself upon (F/n). He was reading a book in class this one time, when he noticed (Boy's name) and (F/n) becoming a little too close for Akashi's liking. He went over and pulled (F/n) aside, to ask her about today's work, even though he already knew it.
Akashi and (F/n)'s parents were actually deciding whether or not the two should get married. Of course, they didn't know that the two knew each other. So imagine the look on Akashi's face when he heard his father speaking to him at dinner.
"I have chosen someone for you to marry, Seijuro. She excels at academics, and has some athletic ability too. She's perfect for you, and-" Akashi interrupted his father, "but father, I already have someone in mind."
"Seijuro, my son, I am not allowing you to marry someone of lower class. You will respect my decision. It's for the best."
          "But father-"
"No excuses Seijuro. This discussion is finished." Akashi slunk back into his seat, while his father's words echoed in his mind. He didn't want this other girl. He wanted (F/n). Tears were threatening to sting his eyes, but he remained silent. His other self started to take over, and his expression turned blank. He knew his father could not be won over. His left eye was slowly turning orange. Slightly, and slowly.

(F/n) was outside when she was suddenly grabbed from behind. "What the-?!"
"A fifteen year old student, female, was returning home from the prestigious Teiko middle school when she was mysteriously shot and stabbed. Her money and expensive bracelet was stolen, but otherwise, her other belongings were untouched. She is currently hospitalized, and police are looking for suspects involved. If you happened to have witnessed the shooting, please tell the police. It would be greatly appreciated. For your four o'clock crime and police news, this is Akira Sakiko, signing off." Those words kept replaying in Akashi's mind. It was everywhere.
That girl was (F/n). Akashi sunk further into his bed at the thought. It was his fault. The thugs threatened Akashi, but even though he beat them up, and got the police involved, he couldn't protect (F/n). And now she was hanging on to her life through machines and medical equipment. Akashi wished he never knew (F/n), so maybe then, she would be safe.

A few months later...

(F/n) still didn't wake up. High school would start soon, and Akashi still hasn't met the girl he was going to be forced to marry. He hoped this girl wouldn't want to be with him either. He hoped this girl would hate him. Akashi wanted (F/n) only. He visited her once a week. The depression carried on.
His left eye was now a different colour. He changed. Akashi wasn't the same warm person he was back then. He was hateful and resentful to the world. He wanted revenge, The people suspected of attacking (F/n) were sentenced to prison for ten years. But that didn't change anything.
Akashi's left eye reflected his emotions now. Hatred. Resentment. Cold. Authority. His aura was a more dangerous one now. And today, he had to visit (F/n).

                                                  ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~
"(F/n)....I'm here now." Akashi grasped (F/n)'s hand, and held it tightly. Her heart rate was beeping. The monitor showed it slowing down. "...you can't die, (F/n). You can't." Beep. Beep. His voice was cracking slightly. "...I loved you, and I still do..." Beep. Beep.
He held her hand more tightly, and felt her fingers turning slightly colder. His every instinct was telling him she was slipping away, but he couldn't let her. He didn't want to.
          Beep.
          Beep.
          ...beep.
"Doctor! Her heart rate is going down!" a nurse yelled. The doctor, Doctor Shinji, came into the room quickly, and told Akashi to go out for a while.
"..." Without a word, Akashi let go of her hand, and felt the lingering feeling of her hand in his. He stood up and left the room, the hospital. The stars were gleaming in the sky, far away, in their own infinitely vast space. Stars burned out eventually. People passed on eventually. But sometimes, they last longer than others.
The memories with (F/n) within Akashi's heart would remain there, as long as he lived, and that day...that night, Akashi swore upon his life, with tears sliding down his face, that he would be perfect for as long as he lived. That he would see (F/n) again. That he would be successful, and marry her. That night...Akashi gave in to the dark side of his emotionally wounded heart.
