Chapter 1

It had been 10 years since Kim Jisoo and Kim Jennie met each other, 7 years since they married, and 5 years since they became parents to a bubbly young Ella Kim. Jennie is the homemaker while Jisoo works as the marketing director of her maternal family's company, Bae International Incorporated and she often flies overseas for business trips. Usually, it would at least take 3 days to a whole week, but this time Bae International Inc. had a big project and wanted to collaborate with Jung Corporation.

Jisoo was asked to convince K.J. Corporation to collaborate with Bae International Inc. since it was a big project, the business trip was estimated to last at least a month.

Jisoo was troubled, she did not know how to break the news to her wife and daughter that she'd be away for a month. Both were super clingy they would frown upon the idea of her being away for 3 days how much more if she's away for a month. They would surely throw a tantrum and give her the cold shoulder before bawling their eyes out, begging her not to leave. Jisoo could only sigh her frustration away. She's sad with the idea of her being away from her loved ones for an entire month, she'd miss them dearly.

On her way home Jisoo stopped over to a mall to buy her wife and daughter their favorite milk flavored ice cream so that when she'd break the news to them, they'd be less upset.

"I'm home!" Jisoo exclaimed enthusiastically as she arrived home. Ella who was watching T.V. in the living room scurried over to the entrance of their home to greet her mother. "Mom!" Ella's eyes shined with excitement upon hearing her mom's voice, she quickly ran from the living room to the entranceway and jumped onto her mom's arms and showered her with kisses on the cheek, it was her way of greeting mom home every time she gets arrives from work and her mom would return her kisses with ticklish kisses on her stomach that'd make her into a giggling mess.

Jennie, who had just finished setting the table for dinner, heard her daughter's giggles which indicates that her beloved wife had just returned home from work. She went to the entranceway to greet her wife and to give her hugs and kisses. "Welcome home Chu, how was work today?" Jennie said as she noticed that her wife was holding a plastic bag. "What's this?" She took the bag from her wife and peeked inside. "Ice cream!" She squealed happily which also made Ella squeal like her mommy. "Come let's have dinner." Jisoo chuckled as she leads her wife and daughter towards the dining table.

After diner Jisoo began fidgeting nervously in her seat while her wife and daughter were enjoying their bowl of ice cream. Jennie noticed her wife's nervous fidgeting "What's wrong?" Jennie asked which made Jisoo even nervous than before. 'Ok, Jisoo this is the moment of truth, fighting!!!' Jisoo breathed in and out deeply to calm herself before telling her wife the dreaded news. "Um, earlier we had a meeting..." Jisoo looked at her wife and daughter who both had stopped eating their ice cream before continuing. "They'll be sending me to New York to represent the company for an important collaboration project..." Now both mother and daughter pair were frowning and crossing their arms looking grim, clearly unhappy of the news. "And how long will you be gone for this time, a week?" Jennie said dangerously with a cold tone. "A-a month." Jisoo squeaked, fearful of what's about to happen. "A month?!" Jennie screamed, aghast with the information that just came out from her wife's mouth. "You're leaving us for a month?! No, you can't go and that's final!" Jennie said sternly and her daughter followed suit and hugged her mom tightly. "You can't go mom!" Jisoo sighed, troubled upon the reaction of her wife and daughter. "I know that both of you are upset with this and that you don't want me to go but I've got no choice. It was the board who gave me this order. Knowing you, Irene unnie made a protest but even she couldn't do anything about it, not when majority of the board voted on me to represent the company." Jennie bit her lip, tears threatening to fall while her daughter cried out loud. "Waaaahhhh... But I don't want you to go mom! I don't want you to leave us..." "Shh... shh... Don't cry princess, mom will just be away for a month, I won't be gone for long. I will comeback right away and bring you gifts, and I will call you and mommy every day I promise." Jisoo said trying to calm her daughter down but the little girl cried louder. Seeing her daughter cry, Jennie couldn't hold in her tears anymore, she went and hugged Jisoo tightly and began to sob along with her daughter. "Wh-when wi-*hick*will y-you le-leave?" "Tomorrow at 10 AM." With that both mother and daughter pair cried harder. They had refused to let go of Jisoo, even after she finished washing the dishes, change clothes, and packing for her trip, they had clung onto her even when they fell asleep with Jisoo in between.
