Bright shining one

"Hey,"

The voice sounds so refreshing that it felt like my ears have been cleansed just by hearing it.

I raised my head to meet the owner of the voice. It lead my eyes to a pair of dark brown eyes that always captivates me.

It's so hard not to smile upon seeing him. I'm trying so hard not to smile too much but it's difficult.

I guess he feels the same because I can see him suppressing his smile too.

Damn, anyone who'd see us right now would probably think we're crazy.

Zaid bit his lip in continuous hope of getting rid of the smile. "I'll.. probably finish late today,"

He subtly scratched his nape. "You.. can go home first if you want," his tone was telling me otherwise though.

I can't help but smile about how small his voice was when he said that.

So I answered him by shaking my head with a curve on my lips. "Sabay na tayo. I'll wait for you,"

He looked into my eye. I think I just saw it glimmered.

His lips broke into another smile. "Well then.. I'll see you later," he huskily said.

I'm internally laughing at his cuteness. I can't believe this. I can't believe us.

Napapailing-iling pa ko habang kagat-labing nagbo-browse sa phone. I decided to kill time by checking my social media accounts.

It's been almost a week since we started going to Bright Bite together everyday. We switch turns in driving and on who's going to bring a car. Sometimes it's me who picks him up while sometime it's him who fetches me. Then we go home together. The one who brought the car drops the other one home first.

I'm so glad Zaid didn't imposed that he has to be the one who always picks me up since he's the man between us. Cause there are other guys like that, right? Those that doesn't let their ladies drive? If safety is the case then that's atleast acceptable but if it's just another one of those toxic masculinity bullshits, then what a big fat YUCK.

However, Zaid is different. He'd always been different. He lets me drive for the both of us. He knows how much I enjoy driving. He respects the things I like.

I really don't think there would ever be anyone else that would understand me the way he does. No one can probably handle me the way he does. No one else can love and accept me the way he does. He's just really.. the only one I need. The one that completes me. The perfect match I want.

It so happened too that I was the one who brought a car today. He will be commuting if I do get home by myself. I can't let that happen. Plus, our road trips are what completes my day.

I was yawning when Jeco, one of my favorite waiters here, went near me with a tray of food on his hands.
