Chapter Four: Routine Work

Uraraka had expected to hear something along the lines of assisting Ryukyu setup the new office in Asaka, but she definitely wasn't expecting to hear she needed to actually move there. And while she was willing to do a lot of things for her boss, moving to a different city was not something she had thought about before. She wasn't completely against it, but this was a turn of events she wasn't expecting, so she had her doubts.

"What do you mean moving there?!" Uraraka asked with wide eyes.

"I just told you, I'm opening a new office in Asaka City!" the dragon hero was still smiling.

"Okay, but why would we need to move there?"

Ryuko sighed, "Uravity, do you think opening a new office is just as simple as hiring some extra heroes?"

Uraraka thought about it for a few seconds, then she raised an eyebrow, "well...yeah. I mean, sure you'll need to oversee operations for a few weeks or a month. But after that it should be all set."

Ryukyu closed her eye and pinched the bridge of her nose, "it's not that simple." She looked back at the gravity girl, "it all depends on the contract you make with the city. In this case they want specific things done so I can't just leave it to someone else." She then pointed a thumb at herself, "my agency's reputation is on the line."

The gravity girl leaned back on her chair, thinking, "to be honest I'm not sure I want to move to Asaka. This is so sudden." She looked at her boss.

Ryukyu smiled, "Well it's a good thing you don't have a choice then." She laughed.

Uraraka sat straight on her chair, "what?! Why not?!"

"Uravity, you're the number one in this agency, well technically number two, but whatever. The thing is, there's certain expectations that come with your position in this agency." The dragon hero lifted a finger, "and right now I expect my number one to accompany me to get this new office up and running and to complete the contract I just signed with the city."

The brown haired girl deflated, slumping down in her chair, "for how long?"

Ryukyu shrugged, "a year, maybe two. It won't be permanent unless you want it to." She waved a hand in dismissal, "and don't worry about moving expenses. It will all be paid by the agency, so you don't have to worry about any of that stuff."

Uraraka, still slumped on her chair, looked up at the ceiling and exhaled, "well I guess I don't have a choice then." She then looked at her computer screen and noticed she didn't finish filing her report. She sat straight and went back to work, "so, what are we going to be doing there anyway?" She took a quick glance at her boss, "I'm sure they have heroes in Asaka, right?"

The dragon lady nodded, "they do, but they haven't really been able to do their jobs."

Uraraka frowned a little while typing some information on her computer, "what do you mean?"

"It's a smaller city, so they're not highly ranked heroes. I think the highest ranked hero over there is not even in the top 300."

"Oh, ok." Uraraka finished her work and then turned back to her boss, "so are we taking over their duties, teaming up or what?"

Ryukyu looked at her phone, "I'll tell you more while we have lunch. Come on." She waited for Uraraka to grab her phone and they started to walk out of the office. As she walked she turned to one of her top heroes. "Hey, Shadow!" A dark clothed hero with a mask that looked like an Owl looked up from his computer, "me and Uravity are going to lunch. You're in charge until I come back."
